  • Gilbert Koomson over the moon after hammering winner as Aaeslund cruised over Sandefjord

    Ghanaian attacker, Gilbert Koomson has reacted to Aeslund’s victory over Sandefjord in the Norwegian topflight league.

    The on-loan Bodo/Glimt star scored the winner as Aeslund made it five wins on a row in their home games in the Eliteserien.

    Koomson, who came on in the 66th minute netted the game’s only goal seven minutes later.

    “The smile means a lot. For Aaeslund keep going. Well done boys,” wrote the winger on Instagram.

    Koomson is on loan from Bodø/Glimt until the end of the current season as he joined in September.

    He has a total of 21 appearances in the Norwegian Eliteserien and has scored once and assisted once in the process.

    He played 14 matches for Bodø/Glimt before switching to Aalesund where he has managed to make 7 appearances so far.

  • Ghanaian winger Gilbert Koomson joins Aalesund

    Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt have traded Ghanaian forward Gilbert Koomson to Aalesund on a season-long loan,

    Koomson was ready for Aalesund just at the last minute on the transfer deadline day on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

    The 27-year-old winger joins Aalesund for the rest of the season until December 2022 as the club have announced on its website.

    In the past, the winger was linked with a move to, among others, HamKam, but Glimt did not want to sell the player permanently in this window.


     

    Strømsgodset and Lillestrøm were also said to have shown concrete interest in signing Ghanaian in this transfer window.

    The player spent a short-term loan in Sogndal already as an 18-year-old, but only came on a permanent basis in 2016.

    He then moved on to Brann – before Turkish Superlig club Kasimpasa picked him up in 2020.

    In 2021, he returned to Norwegian football, but is under tough competition from, among others, shooting star Joel Mvuka and top scorer Amahl Pellegrino, in addition to the injured key player Ola Solbakken.

    Koomson has a contract with Bodø/Glimt until the 2023 season.

    He has made 21 appearances in the Norwegian Eliteserien and the UEFA Champions League qualifications this season.

  • Gilbert Koomson ready to swap SK Brann for Turkish side Erzurumspor

    Ghanaian winger Gilbert Koomson says he is prepared to swap SK Brann for newly-promoted Turkish SupaLiga side Erzurumspor.

    The deadly wideman has become a subject of offers from several European sides following his distinctive display for SK Brann in the Norwegian championship.

    GHANASoccernet.com exclusively reported on Friday that Turkish top-tier newcomers Erzurumspor have officially made a bid of 400,000 to sign the dead-eye winger.

    The 25-year-old has now indicated his desire to make the move, saying only if SK Brann are satisfied with the offer.

    “I’m ready to accept the challenge but won’t force it. If Brann are okay with the bid, I’ll surely try to test myself elsewhere.”

    Koomson has been Brann’s most important player this year, scoring eight goals in 16 matches from his right wing position.

  • Ghanaian forward Gilbert Koomson becomes a father in Norway

    Ghanaian forward Gilbert Koomson has become a father as his girlfriend, Kamilla Isabell, delivered a beautiful baby girl.

    Koomson, who plies his trade in Norway with SK Brann, was said to be contemplating on participating in the side’s Eliteserien clash against Mjøndalen on Sunday after his girlfriend safely delivered a beautiful baby girl on Friday.

    The 25-year-old however played full throttle for the Red and Whites but could not crown his day with a goal as Mjøndalen pipped them 1-0 at the Brann Stadion.

    “It’s a great feeling. I have great respect for Kamilla and all the other mothers in the world. I saw with my own eyes how tough it is to carry and give birth to a child. The baby’s name is Emilia Koomson, writes a proud father in an SMS to BA.

    Koomson posted the good news on Instagram Sunday morning.

    “God bless you for all the pain you have been through. I have extra respect for all the moms in the world. For what I saw today … I can not even explain it. You’re the toughest and bravest girl I’ve ever met

    He has scored eight goals in 13 games for Brann this year, and is the top scorer for the club.
