On his part, he has become an enemy to Diana Asamoah because he said a truth.

  • I wouldn’t give Edward Akwasi Boateng a penny if I were MOG – Vida Adutwumwaa

I wouldn’t give Edward Akwasi Boateng a penny if I were MOG – Vida Adutwumwaa

Entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa has criticized gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng for his unappreciative stance regarding the donations and gifts he has received.

Boateng, who gained attention in 2023 after a video of him selling pen drives and CDs surfaced online, faced backlash for his comments on donations.

The veteran gospel musician, who claimed to have lost 17 cars and all his possessions due to a failed marriage, received support from Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson–Eshun and others.

However, his remarks in interviews about the size of donations and unfulfilled promises from fellow musicians like MOGmusic sparked controversy.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, Vida Adutwumwaa expressed disappointment at Boateng’s attitude, stating that his behaviour could deter future contributions from well-meaning individuals.

“I saw an interview where someone gifted him GH¢1000 and he said the money was too small for him and he was expecting more. How can he say that? With the pen drives he sells, will he be able to make GH¢1000 from selling them?

“The attitude he has been displaying is not right. If I were the one who gave him the money, I would have gone back for it. Because if he can’t appreciate GH¢1000, then how much is he expecting people to give him?” a disappointed Vida asked.

She urged Boateng to show gratitude for the assistance he has received and cautioned that such entitlement might lead donors to reconsider their support.

“If I were MOG, I wouldn’t even give him the plaque and the money pledged to him, I would give it to a more humble gospel artiste.

“It’s difficult to make money nowadays; people have to pay bills and other things. And they’ve taken the little they have to give him and he says it’s not enough.

“So let him appreciate the little he has been given and stop being so entitled to other people’s money,” said Vida.
Vida emphasised the importance of humility and appreciation in the face of help, suggesting that if she were MOGmusic, she would redirect support to a more grateful artist.

She highlighted the challenges people face in making ends meet and stressed the need for Boateng to acknowledge the generosity extended to him.

  • Edward Akwasi Boateng is ungrateful – Vida Adutwumwaa

Edward Akwasi Boateng is ungrateful – Vida Adutwumwaa

A prominent entertainment critic, Vida Adutwumwaa has strongly criticized veteran gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng for what she perceives as ingratitude.

During a segment on UTV’s United Showbiz, Adutwumwaa did not hold back, labelling Boateng as ungrateful.

The controversy arose after Boateng mentioned in an interview with Zionfelix that certain public figures had promised to support him but failed to follow through.

Boateng specifically mentioned his colleague, MOG, alleging that promises of support were made but not honoured.

He also brought up media personality Otwinoko, claiming that while Otwinoko had given him a check, the amount was far below what he expected.

Reacting to Boateng’s statements, Adutwumwaa criticised his attitude, stating that it made no sense.

She pointed out that Boateng should show appreciation, especially considering that the sales from his pen drives might not amount to the money he deems too little.

Adutwumwaa highlighted Boateng’s reaction to receiving GH¢1000, implying that his expectations were unrealistic given his current ventures.

“I saw an interview where someone gifted him GH¢1000 and he said the money was too small for him and he was expecting more. How can he say that? With the pen drives he sells, will he be able to make GH¢1000 from selling them?” he said.

She expressed disbelief at his inability to appreciate such an amount, suggesting that if she were in Otwinoko’s position, she would reconsider giving him anything at all.

“The attitude he has been displaying is not right. If I were the one who gave him the money, I would have gone back for it. Because if he can’t appreciate GH¢1000, then how much is he expecting people to give him?” she added.

In conclusion, Adutwumwaa emphasized that Boateng’s demeanor and expectations were inappropriate, questioning how much he anticipated receiving if GH¢1000 was deemed insufficient.

  • Your sense of entitlement is extreme – Amanda Jissih fires Edward Akwasi Boateng

Your sense of entitlement is extreme – Amanda Jissih fires Edward Akwasi Boateng

Entertainment commentator Amanda Jissih has voiced strong criticism against gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng, denouncing what she perceives as his excessive sense of entitlement within the industry.

The controversy arose when Boateng expressed disappointment in fellow musician MOGmusic for allegedly failing to honour a pledge to recognize him at an event.

Jissih, speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, clarified that Boateng had left the event before the scheduled recognition due to unforeseen delays.

“There was just so much going on with him [MOGmusic], so it wasn’t that he ignored or had forgotten. Getting to the end of the show, he [MOGmusic] tried looking for him [Edward], but he wasn’t there. The plan was that after everything, they would make their accounts and honour their pledge,” said Amanda Jissih.

“Times are hard and so if someone promises you something, you need to be aware that they do not owe you. It’s not by force that they must give you something. That sense of entitlement should die down. We acknowledge that you have worked hard but you are not entitled to anyone’s money. There was no point in going to grant interviews,” Amanda stated.

Jissih emphasised the need for gratitude and understanding, highlighting Boateng’s recent public struggle to make ends meet after personal challenges.

“He is even at fault because he didn’t wait till the end of the show to see what would happen, he left early. If he had waited till the end and was not recognized, then he would have a point because awards are not given at the beginning of a show.

“So he should take it easy. The entitlement is too much,” Amanda Jissih remarked.

She pointed out that several individuals and organisations, including Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson-Eshun and supporters of Angel TV and Angel FM, had extended generous support to Boateng in his time of need.

Expressing disapproval of Boateng’s public criticism of MOGmusic, Jissih urged humility and patience, noting that entitlement could hinder rather than help in such situations.

She concluded by suggesting that Boateng should have waited until the end of the event before making judgments and going public with his grievances.

  • MOG put me on an event flyer but did not call me to perform – Edward Akwasi Boateng claims

Renowned gospel artist Edward Akwasi Boateng has voiced his disappointment over MOGmusic‘s failure to honour a financial commitment he made to support him.

Boateng revealed that MOGmusic had pledged financial assistance during a public announcement but did not follow through, even at a recent event where they were both present.

Boateng recounted that he was prominently featured on promotional material for the event in Kumasi, with promises of support from MOGmusic.

However, during the program, MOGmusic neither acknowledged him nor fulfilled the promised assistance.

Despite efforts to reach out, Boateng mentioned that he has not received any communication from MOGmusic since.

Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix, Edward noted that he has not heard from MOGmusic again.

“I was placed on the flyer for the show, indicating that he would support me during the programme but he never did. I went to greet him after the show, but he [MOGmusic] didn’t say anything,” he said.

This disappointment comes amid recent challenges faced by Boateng, including the loss of significant assets due to personal struggles, as highlighted by a viral video showing him selling pen drives and CDs.

However, support has also poured in from various quarters, with Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson–Eshun offering a car and educational scholarships, and contributions from fans and well-wishers totaling GHC60,000.

Gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has taken to social media to provide an update on the use of funds he received from individuals and organizations during his financial hardship.

In a video he personally filmed and shared on various platforms, Edward showcased a house that is still under construction, revealing that he has used the donated funds to purchase cement and roofing sheets to complete the building.

Edward explained that he decided to share the video as evidence of how he is utilizing the donated money, especially in response to criticisms he received after receiving public support.

“I don’t normally do this but due to certain issues and what’s happening, I thought it wise to do it. Those who find this problematic should forgive me because you can’t please everyone. Last year Apostle Solomon Oduro gave me 15,000 cedis and that’s what I used to start this house.

“With my recent issues where some benevolent Ghanaians donated money to me including that of Angel TV, I used the money to buy cement and roofing sheets to complete this building I started earlier. I want to make the public aware that this is the project I am embarking on with the money I received,” he said.

Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson-Eshun, the General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, has shown generosity to gospel artist Edward Akwasi Boateng, presenting him with a car and offering an educational scholarship for his children up to university level.

This gesture came after a video of Edward selling pen drives and CDs for survival went viral, revealing his financial struggles following a failed marriage which led to the loss of 17 cars and all his properties.

Moved by Edward’s plight, Prophet Benard extended his support, with other individuals also contributing to help the musician financially. Additionally, followers of the morning show on Angel TV and Angel FM raised GHC60,000 to support him.

In the early 2000s, Edward Akwasi Boateng was a prominent figure in Ghanaian gospel music, experiencing significant success and earning over $300,000. • Stop misinterpreting the Bible – Ola Michaels to Diana Asamoah

Stop misinterpreting the Bible – Ola Michaels to Diana Asamoah

Gospel musician Diana Asamoah has stirred up a debate by invoking a biblical reference to defend her advice to fellow artist Edward Akwasi Boateng on the use of a gifted vehicle.

During a discussion on UTV, Asamoah clarified that her suggestion was not rooted in malice, emphasizing that it was Boateng’s choice whether to heed her counsel or not.

Quoting Acts 3:1-11, Asamoah pointed out that, according to the Bible, Peter and John did not provide financial support to a lame man they encountered, as they themselves lacked funds.

She asserted that, similarly, she couldn’t be compelled to financially support Boateng, prompting reactions from entertainment pundits.

Veteran entertainment pundit Ola Michael challenged Asamoah’s interpretation, contending that her perspective on the Bible quotation was flawed.

“You have quoted wrongly. It’s not about what the quotation says but your interpretation. Because the man was lame, he was being placed there to beg for money.

“But his greatest wish was to be able to walk. So when Peter and John saw him, they went in for what was more important to him, which was for him to be able to walk than money. In your explanation, you were insinuating that they didn’t have money but that was not the case,” Ola Michael stated in an interview on UTV.

He argued that the emphasis in the biblical story was on addressing the man’s desire to walk, not a lack of funds.

Asamoah has faced criticism for publicly advising Boateng to use the gifted vehicle for ride-hailing services.

Various figures in the creative arts industry, including Halifax, have condemned Asamoah, urging her to refrain from publicly disgracing her fellow gospel musician if she cannot offer support.
Edward Akwasi Boateng, who has faced financial hardships in recent years, lost his once-prosperous assets, including seventeen cars, due to difficulties stemming from a troubled marriage.

Prophet Bernard El Bernard, head pastor of Spirit Life Revival Ministry, stepped in to help by gifting Boateng a car, offering a full scholarship for his children’s university education, and committing to a monthly allowance to alleviate his ongoing financial challenges.

You have no right to rebuke Edward Boateng – Kumchacha to Diana Asamoah

Renowned Ghanaian pastor Nicholas Osei, known popularly as Prophet Kumchacha, has launched an intense critique against gospel musician Diana Asamoah in the midst of an escalating verbal clash.

The dispute originated from Asamoah’s condemnation of veteran musician Edward Akwasi Boateng for accepting an extravagant car gift from a fellow clergyman.

Asamoah suggested that Akwasi Boateng, facing financial difficulties, should utilise the vehicle for Uber to generate additional income.

Unhappy with her proposal, the veteran gospel musician advised Asamoah to employ her divine guidance to improve her own life.

In a show of solidarity, Prophet Kumchacha deemed Asamoah’s behaviour hypocritical and inconsistent.

Drawing from his own experiences of hardship, he expressed disappointment in mocking a colleague struggling with poverty.

Citing verses from Proverbs, the controversial prophet labelled Diana’s actions as “foolishness” and cautioned her to tread carefully or face his wrath.

Just a week and a day ago, a poignant video emerged online, showcasing the renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Edward Akwasi Boateng, in a moment of hardship.

In the viral footage, he appeared visibly fatigued as he engaged in the humble task of selling pen drives in the market, using a megaphone.

It was revealed that he resorted to this means to raise funds for his sons’ school fees, as he had no other means of support at the time.

The sight of the “M’akoma So Ade” hitmaker in such financial straits elicited empathy from numerous netizens and fans.

Thankfully, support poured in as people began donating to him via a mobile money number he shared on social media.

Prophet Bernard El Bernard, the head pastor of Spirit Life Revival Ministry, further extended kindness by presenting valuable gifts to Boateng on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

“Mind your business” – Edward Akwasi Boateng quotes bible verse in response to Diana Asamoah’s advice

Renowned gospel singers Diana Asamoah and Edward Akwasi Boateng engaged in a fiery exchange.

The disagreement stemmed from Asamoah’s advice to Boateng regarding a Toyota car recently gifted to him by Prophet Bernard El Bernard.

Boateng, a well-known gospel singer, had recently been captured on video hawking pen drives at a Kumasi bus terminal, sparking rumours about financial difficulties despite owning 17 cars in the past.

Prophet El Bernard came to his aid, gifting him a new car and pledging to support his children.

During the radio discussion on Okay FM, Asamoah suggested that Boateng use the gifted car for Uber services rather than personal use, considering his public appeals for help.

Host Abeiku Santana called Boateng to respond to Asamoah’s remarks, and he responded by diplomatically referencing a Bible verse, implying that Asamoah’s advice was unwarranted.

The on-air conversation escalated into a trading of light insults before Boateng abruptly ended the call.

The clash between the two gospel singers has stirred up discussion among their fans and the public.

Renowned gospel musician, Diana Asamoah, has urged veteran artiste Edward Akwasi Boateng to wisely utilize the recent gifts he has received to sustain himself.

In a public appeal for assistance, Boateng was gifted a car and an educational scholarship by Prophet Benard El Benard Nelson-Eshun, following a video that captured him selling pen drives and CDs at a bus station in Kumasi.

Asamoah, expressing concern over Boateng’s repeated appeals for help, suggested that he used the privately gifted car for a ride-hailing service to generate income.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, Diana Asamoah sympathised with Boateng, a staunch Christian, and advised him to leverage the car for income generation.
