Renowned music producer Kaywa has encouraged celebrities not to fear death prophecies, emphasizing that they are not a guarantee of death.
During a live discussion on X with Graphic Showbiz, Kaywa stated that many celebrities and the general public fear such prophecies due to a lack of understanding. He explained that death is a transition from one state to another, and for believers, it should not instill fear.
Kaywa also shared that he had received a prophecy about the late songstress Ebony Reigns before her passing, and he had converted her to Christianity before her untimely death in 2018.
He emphasized that both positive and negative prophecies should be accepted in good faith, as prophets deliver messages from God, not personal opinions.
“Whether you believe in the prophecy or not, the prophet’s aim is to convey what God has revealed to him. It is up to the recipient to accept it and act upon it. I have given some prophecies about certain individuals, and they received them with grace, and we prayed about them,” he iterated.
Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known by her stage name Ebony Reigns, was a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist known for her hit songs including “Poison” and “Kupe” Ebony Reigns died in a motor accident in 2018.
David Kojo Kyei, also known as Kaywa, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Highly Spiritual Music, has made a startling revelation about a tragic incident involving the late Ebony.
According to Kaywa, he had a premonition of the accident that ultimately claimed Ebony’s life, as it appeared to him in a vivid dream.
Upon recognizing the gravity of the dream, Kaywa wasted no time in reaching out to Bullet, Ebony’s manager, to share what he had seen. As a man of God, Kaywa explained that he had a close and personal relationship with Bullet, especially when it came to prophecies concerning his record label and artists.
Speaking on Prime Morning on Joyprime, hosted by Rosellyn Felli, Kaywa revealed that there were occasions when he had to intervene and guide them on certain actions or locations to prevent the events he had dreamed about from happening. This chilling account underscores the profound impact of dreams and prophetic visions in his life and work, particularly when it pertains to the safety and well-being of the artists under his care.
“So, what happened to Ebony was not a prophecy, I saw it in a dream. Usually, when I go to sleep, there are many things I see and so when I woke up, I texted Bullet and sent him details which included where I saw my dream. It was very detailed. Until he put out that information, nobody knew I even spoke about it. There were times I will tell them not to go at this time, I will text them and it was a personal thing”, he explained.
Kaywa further emphasized that while some prophecies may be unchangeable, he firmly believes that altering the course of events can be the best approach.
Elaborating on this perspective, he recounted a specific instance when he had a foreboding feeling about Ebony performing in the region she hailed from. Consequently, he took it upon himself to warn Ebony against holding a performance there, based on his intuition and the dream he had experienced. In his view, this proactive approach is a means of mitigating potential risks and safeguarding the well-being of the artists he works with, even when faced with challenging or unsettling premonitions.
“I have heard many people say they can see but they can’t stop it. Sometimes it is not stopping, sometimes it is just changing the course. When I saw it, I kept telling him to change the course. I remember there were times I texted them and said, the region, that space, you have a lot of calls to go and perform there, don’t go. They kept getting calls and they also were turning down the calls and all that”
“You know she is gone and I want us to respect Ebony. You know she was a very good person and all that”, he stated.
The Worldwide Miracle Outreach’s founder and president, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, says the death of Ghanaian dancehall/afrobeats artist, Ebony, brought her family a breakthrough.
In his opinion, the female singer was still in the early stages of her career and faced financial instability, as did her family.
“Ebony had nothing, you can quote me anywhere, she was not 21 years yet when she died, her biggest contract with Bullet and the team had not materialized before she died, Ebony had also never gone to Europe before when she died.”
“The only privilege she had to go abroad was what connected me to her at the Hungarian embassy three days after which she died, so she never really had a breakthrough, she was in a pipeline for a major breakthrough but it never happened.”
“So when she died, there was nothing at home, the truth was that it was rather the death of Ebony that even opened certain doors,” he said.
Dr Lawrence Tetteh played a crucial role in arranging Ebony’s funeral, especially when he realized the family needed assistance.
“I did help financially; in fact, I took charge of the funeral. Everything concerning Ebony’s funeral was planned in my house; everybody came to my house, her record label, MUSIGA, her family, they were all in my house.”
“We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner in my house; we became like a family. Ebony’s father became like my brother. Anytime he flares up, I’m the only one who could calm him down, and I took him to every place and I introduced him to all the Presidential leaders.”
“And then also, I helped in making sure we secured the forecourt of the State House for the funeral. I also bought and paid for her coffin,” he recalled.
The death of Ebony did not surprise Lawrence Tetteh; rather, he was thrilled that she had received salvation 72 hours before she died.
“Shock is an understatement. I thanked God rather for her, that at least she met Christ 72 hours before she was called into glory,” he said.
On February 8, 2018, while travelling from Sunyani to Accra after seeing her mother, Ebony tragically died in an accident. She died eight days before her 21st birthday.

At the Osu Cemetary on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Nana Opoku-Kwarteng addressed a gathering of family and friends including an elderly man who appeared to be of European descent.
He detailed the achievements of his daughter in pride and grief.
“She was a songstress, a very good one at that. She’s made a mark in Ghana,” he began.
“I should say she is the first ever female artiste to have won the most prestigious award on this land of ours, here in Ghana,” he knocked the ground with his fashionable walking stick and with it, pointed to the tombstone of the former Rufftown Records star.
“She was called Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng. She was once again called Ebony Reigns. She left us five years back today,” he went on and narrated how Ebony lost her life by a road accident on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
“Suddenly, when she was going to see her mom, when mom returned from the United Kingdom, she Ebony was about to travel to Europe to tour musically.
“Unfortunately, indeed she did meet mom, but on her way to Accra,” he stopped, overcome with emotion, and put his cane under his left armpit. “She never survived. She had an accident.” Mr Opoku-Kwarteng’s narration of the his daughter’s passing was truncated by tears.
“Nana Hermaa Ebony. She died gruesomely,” he seemed to regain his composure and knocked the ground repeatedly with his stick to punctuate his words. “I’ve always said that.”
He revealed the purpose for the gathering which included Ebony’s mother and elder sister.
“So we’re here today, five years since she left us to lay wreath and also to have acquaintance, so to speak, with her and say to her that we still love, we still appreciate, we still cherish, we still adore her, and we shall always do because she deserves that,” the grayed man in black’s lips trembled in speech.
“She did well, she made her mark. She put us in the limelight, myself and the family,” he said crying. “Who does that?”
“People might not understand why we celebrate this pretty person, but I have my reasons. If you were to be in my shoes, you’d very much understand who Opoku-Kwarteng is and what he stands for. She’s given me the mark that I so much deserve, and my family. We’re so proud we had her in our family, but suddenly, we lost her,” crying, he pointed to Ebony’s sculpture on the grave. “We miss her, and we shall always miss her.”
“We thank you,” he bowed before the grave. “We thank you, Queen. We appreciate you. We’re here today, your royal majesty, to have acquaintance with you, to have a word with you, to say we appreciate you, and to say we miss you so much,” he hugged himself solemnly.
His family could not hold back their tears behind their sunglasses.
Raising his voice, he barked: “Ohemaa (Queen), rest well. Rest in peace. You made your mark, as young as you [were]. You made a mark. You turned things around. Ghana shall forever and ever celebrate and adore you because you deserve it.
“21 years [only, but] you had gone all over the world. Everybody loved you. Why, because you made your mark.”
He stressed that the deceased music star’s family, friends and fans, “shall forever and ever, adore, cherish and pamper you because you did so well.”
Having said this, Mr Opoku-Kwarteng instructed that someone pray with the congregation at the Osu Cemetary so the commemoration would officially begin.

According to him, the police initially said during their investigations that there was nothing untoward about the accident that killed Ebony however a 2nd investigation discovered the driver did not have a license.

When asked if she had approached Ebony’s family about the issue, the budding artiste replied that people would have thought she was doing it for attention.

Starboy Kwarteng, the father of late Dancehall songstress, Ebony Reigns, has asserted that award-winning reggae-dancehall artiste Shatta Wale should be investigated as he might have something to do with his daughter’s death.
According to him, he’s been disturbed after hearing the allegation but doesn’t want to conclude anything until he has enough proof.
He told Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess of Happy98.9FM and e.tv Ghana that: “As you already know, I don’t joke with anything that involves my late daughter and like I’ve always done I’ll go into this.
