    Police investigate death of 2-year-old at farm in Devon

    At Devon, a toddler passed away under mysterious circumstances.

    On Friday evening, emergency personnel flocked to the area close to the village of Lifton, but the two-year-old daughter was beyond saving.

    Six days later, her death is still being regarded as “unexplained,” and investigations are still proceeding.

    According to a Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman, officers were called to farms in the Lifton region of west Devon around 7 o’clock on Friday, June 16.

    At the scene, a two-year-old daughter was declared dead. Her heirs have been notified.

    ‘The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing on behalf of HM Coroner.’

    The Health and Safety Executive has been notified, the spokesperson added.

    In Devon, a cliff fall has claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman.

    Following rumours that the adolescent had fallen and sadly died, police hurried to the beach.

    The event took place on Friday afternoon in south Devon, close to Hope Cove.

    According to the police, her family was informed of the tragedy.

    Emergency services said that paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service, Devon and Cornwall Police, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bigbury and Kingsbridge, an Independent Rescue Boat from Hope Cove, and the Coastguard helicopter from Newquay were all dispatched to the area.

    Today, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that an 18-year-old girl had died. A force spokesperson said: ‘Police were informed by the Coastguard at around 4.40pm yesterday [19 May] that the body of a woman had been recovered from the beach near Hope Cove.

    ‘An 18-year-old woman was reported to have fallen from the cliff and was confirmed deceased at the scene.

    ‘Her next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are continuing.’
