Member of the Dance With Purpose (DWP) group, Roland Frimpong Nyarko, known as Champion Rollie and recently revealed the highest payment he has received as a dancer.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s 4Kids Paradise with Akosua Debrah, he shared that he earned GH₵ 70,000.00 earlier this year for his role as an influencer during the Ghana vs. Egypt match.
Rollie was contracted by Football Together, which flew him to Côte d’Ivoire to promote the match on social media.
He described his astonishment upon seeing the payment in his bank account, noting it as the biggest contract of his career.
Rollie finds great satisfaction in being paid as a professional dancer, with his earnings varying based on the event and contract.
Beyond the financial aspect, he values the positive influence he has on the youth and his audience through his art.
Recently, Rollie organized the ‘Clothe-A-Child; Change A Life’ fun fair, aiding over one hundred street children. He has been dedicated to this project for several years. Looking ahead, Rollie aims to use his earnings to train aspiring young dancers from the streets, helping them secure better futures.
Additionally, Rollie is considering participating in Britain’s Got Talent (BGT), inspired by his former dance colleague and friend, Afronitaa. He plans to continue showcasing his talent and entertaining audiences with his performances.
“This is the first time I’m disclosing this. The highest amount I’ve been paid is GH₵ 70,000.00. In January, I had a contract with Football Together, and they flew me to Cote d’Viore to be an influencer for Ghana and Egypt match. I did a lot of things by posting on my social media, and that’s the biggest contract I’ve ever signed,” he revealed.
“Knowing that you’re having a good impact and influence on the youth and people who are watching you is also an amazing feeling.”
