Three individuals have tragically lost their lives in a deadly communal clash between the youth of Bronkong and Afrancho in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region. Witnesses recount that the devastating clash which occurred on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Bronkong was triggered by a confrontation between the youth from the twin communities of Bronkong and Afrancho, which eventually escalated into a deadly and regrettable fight.
Assembly Member for Kyerease Electoral Area, Hon Joyce Osei Assibey, revealed in an interview that the grim incident resulted in the reported deaths of three individuals. The fatal casualties occurred as a consequence of severe machete wounds sustained during the intense clash.
She noted that they are yet to find the identities of the deceased and deduce which community the victims might come from.
The Assembly Member revealed that some seven suspects have been arrested by police in the area.
She, however, called for calm, as security agencies in the district have taken over the matter to serve justice all affected victims
