Cost of living has skyrocketed but we are still witnessing traditional marriages – Aglow International National Prayer Director

National Prayer Director for Aglow International Ghana, Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, expressed gratitude for God’s blessings upon Ghana despite the various challenges the country faces.

Speaking at a mid-year thanksgiving service at the State House on Saturday, she highlighted God’s preservation of peace and stability amidst economic, power, water, and weather challenges.

The veteran journalist and lawyer acknowledged the difficulties faced by Ghanaians, including economic hardships and intermittent power outages (dumsor), but emphasized that God’s mercies have kept the nation from being consumed by these challenges.

She also noted that despite the high cost of living, Ghana continues to celebrate traditional ceremonies and events like weddings, outdooring ceremonies, and birthdays.

Ms. Afenyi-Dadzie urged Ghanaians to consider the plight of other nations facing natural disasters and crises, emphasizing that God has been generous to Ghana in comparison.

The thanksgiving service, a hallmark of Aglow International Ghana, is known for its annual prayer events that primarily attract women from across the country.

This year’s event included prayers for the country’s leadership, government machinery, and for positive spiritual intervention in national affairs.

Chief Justice Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo also participated in the event, offering prayers for the political and judicial administration of the country, as well as for increased agricultural productivity.
