    Ghanaian socialite Afia Schwarzenegger recently spoke out about feeling abandoned by Fadda Dickson and Osei Kwame Despite of Despite Media Group during a legal issue involving UTV.

    She recounted booking her own flight to Ghana for the United Showbiz program, where a comment she made led to a lawsuit against the station.

    Despite hiring lawyers for other panelists, Afia Schwarzenegger claimed she had to find and pay for her own legal representation.

    She expressed hurt over Fadda Dickson allegedly warning her not to acknowledge their friendship publicly ahead of the court date, despite him facilitating her involvement in the show.

    “There were three or four lawyers for UTV, and I had to get my own lawyer. A day before we went to court, I was in Amsterdam, and Fadda Dickson called to tell me that I shouldn’t greet him when I see him because he doesn’t want people to know that we were friends. Let me die if I am telling lies. Meanwhile, it was through you that I got into trouble” she said.

    “The first day in court, McBrown asked why I did not greet them, but I couldn’t say anything. I used my own money to book a flight for the interview, but when the issue came, I was left alone. So, what does he say about me in public that he didn’t want anybody to know we were close? Kwame Despite hired a lawyer for all those on the programme except me,” she recounted in Twi during an Instagram live session.

    In an Instagram live session, she criticized the perceived lack of loyalty and value of loyalty in Ghanaian relationships, advising against unwavering loyalty due to perceived neglect in times of need.

    “Loyalty in Ghana has no value; don’t be loyal to anyone because they treat you like a dog,” she added.

    The legal issue stemmed from comments made on the show regarding Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, resulting in fines and jail sentences for some involved, including Afia Schwarzenegger for contempt of court.

    The Ghana Police Service has apprehended Imarana Abdulai Gomda in Tamale, Northern Region, for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

    In a social media post on Friday, May 31, the Police confirmed that Gomda was arrested at the Datoyili Barrier in Tamale on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

    During the arrest, officers seized two SMG rifles, six rounds of 9MM ammunition, and two empty magazines from him.

    The suspect is currently in custody and is cooperating with the Police in their investigations.

    Despite Media Group reportedly had to pay a substantial sum of 3 billion old Ghana Cedis as part of the legal resolution.

    The spokesperson for the Belgian political party ‘New Force,’ Ms. Shalima Abbuisi, faced arrest and charges for falsifying documents to obtain a Ghana resident permit.

    She was accused of obtaining a student permit through ‘fraudulent misrepresentation,’ deemed unconstitutional and punishable by law.

    The Ghana Immigration Service, in a statement, announced the revocation of Ms. Abbuisi’s residence permit by the Comptroller-General, citing Section 20 (2)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2000.

    This provision empowers authorities to revoke permits obtained through fraudulent means.

    As a result, Ms. Abbuisi was repatriated on December 19, 2023, via Air Brussels Flight No. SN 319, returning to her home country, Belgium.

She has raised concerns about the report, particularly the assertion that Mr. Adomah had taken substances and became hyperactive, as she believes he was not involved with drugs prior to his passing.

    Afia Schwarzenegger also questioned why the police issued a report without conducting an autopsy to validate their claims, which could be used in legal proceedings. She emphasized her demand for justice in the case of Bennet Adomah, whose unusual circumstances of death have raised suspicions among the public.

    The report goes on to disclose that their argument escalated, and the deceased began causing damage to the property in the house. This compelled his girlfriend to leave the scene to avoid the confrontation.

    The police report further stated that Ben was later discovered on the floor with marks on his arms and blood coming from his nose, suggesting that he may have collapsed and fallen. This information was published by Angel FM’s court.

    “According to the facts the police gathered, the lady did not harm the deceased. Per Police findings, he took in some substances and became very high. So, because he was in a hyperactive state, he tried to harm the lady when he got to the house. This caused him to smash a glass on the floor and the lady managed to escape from the room.

    “They said he started destroying things in the room and it appears that he slumped and fell to the ground, hitting his head on the ground in the process. The only marks on his body were on his arms and his thumb. His nose was bleeding and it somehow proves that he slumped and fell on the tiles.”

    Additionally, it was reported that the suspect’s attorney denied allegations that his client fatally stabbed the victim.

    He argued that the ‘murder’ charge his client had been slapped with was inappropriate.

    “Because it is a murder case, she has not been asked to plead guilty or not. Her lawyer is even saying that the murder charges being leveled against her are inappropriate. They said they would go to every length to prove that their client is not guilty. He wasn’t killed by his side chick. Also, news that his side chick’s other boyfriend confronted and killed him is false,” the reports added.

    Meanwhile, the case was adjourned to October 27.

    “I firmly believe that the NDC must present a unified front for the 2024 general elections. As a dedicated member of the NDC, I prioritize the party’s unity and the President John Mahama project aimed at rescuing our country,” Mr Nuamah wrote.

    The movie producer thanked his fans and all well-wishers for their support adding that he is grateful for the time spent with them all.

    While announcing his withdrawal from the race, Mr Nuamah threw his support behind John Dumelo his biggest competitor in the battle for the Ayawaso West Wuogon candidacy and called on his followers to do the same.

    Afia Schwarzenegger raised a series of examples, including women, clergy, farmers, judges, Charlotte Osei (former Chair of the Electoral Commission), and even herself, suggesting that his aspiration to become President could be marred by his past behavior.

    In reaction to this, Afia Schwarzenegger insists that Eunice played a major role in her friend’s death.

    Analyzing the events from that faithful day, Afia said it was Eunice’s phone call that dragged Maa Adwoa out to be killed.

    She also wondered why Eunice failed to raise an alarm while fleeing the scene where her friend was being killed.

    “If you pay close attention to Maa Adwoa’s story, she was indoors and then her female friend convinced her to step out of her room. It was her friend’s phone call that physically exposed her to her killer. Maa Adwoa’s friend fled the scene while she was being shot. Did she scream or raise an alarm on her way? Per the laws, if you meet someone committing a crime, you must raise an alarm but did she do that?

    “I have warned people about friends on this social media several times. Now I am tired. Not everyone around you is your friend, some of them have been contracted to work against you. Spiritually and physically. They have been sent to destroy your life, your future,” she added.

    Chairman Wontumi hauls Afia Schwarzenegger to court again

    Afia Schwarzenegger has been dragged to court once again for violating the terms on which she was freed in an earlier contempt case.

    One can recall that after Chairman Wontumi slapped the comedienne with a defamation lawsuit, she reportedly failed to show up in court despite several cautions.

    Things escalated and she was sentenced to 10 days in prison, on the grounds of Contempt of Court, but she went into complete hiding.

    She later turned herself in, issued an apology with remorse, and her lawyer prayed the court that his client should be made to pay a fine instead.

    It was in the bid to annul the 10-day prison sentence that the socialite was ordered to sign a bond of good behavior for 36 months, in addition to a fine of GHC60,000.

    Afia was also ordered not to comment on the case on any platform during the pendency of the bond, with the court directing that any breach of these orders will warrant the socialite being hauled back.

    But Chairman Wontumi, after analyzing events closely on social media, has come to the realization that the socialite did not heed any of the court’s rules.

    In that regard, Wontumi’s counsel has issued another lawsuit seeking the court to haul back the comedienne.

    “The counsel for and behalf of the applicant herein will move this honorable court for an order praying the honorable court to punish the respondent herein for continuing contempt arising from respondent violation and disobedient to the terms of the judgment of this court,” parts of the statements made available to GhanaWeb read.
