  • Victorien Adebayor gave me sleepless night after his brace against Chelsea – Yahaya Mohammed

    Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has disclosed that Victorien Adebayor’s brace against Berekum Chelsea gave him sleepless night.

    Inter Allies Adebayor was the talk of town on Saturday after putting up a scintillating performance in their 3-1 away win over Berekum Chelsea.

    The Nigerien scored a brace as they returned from Berekum with the maximum points. The goals leapfrogged him to the summit of the top scorers’ chart.

    Speaking to Asempa FM on Monday, February 17, Yahaya Mohammed affectionately called the ‘Terminator’, lauded praise on Adebayor and said his heroics push him to do better.

    Yahaya on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League matchday 10 against Liberty Professionals scored a brace as both strikers are now joint-top scorers with 10 goals.

    “He is a super player. To be honest with you he gave me a sleepless night on Saturday because I was leading him and he overtook me by two-goal margin and I had to do better,”

    “Beating Chelsea 3:1 at home is a huge result for Inter Allies,”

    Aduana Stars on Sunday suffered their worst defeat of the season. The Ogya Boys 5-2 away to Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park.

    “Sometimes the players and the technical team make mistakes,” he told Asempa FM. “We have been poor in our games and it is not good for the club,” he told Asempa FM.

    “Liberty took their chances against us. They played well but we will go back to the drawing board and correct our mistakes.

    “We have no excuse than to win against Asante Kotoko on Wednesday to clear all the mess. We have to beat them hands down,” he added.

  • We will beat them – Aduana Stars coach warns Hearts of Oak

    Aduana Stars deputy coach W.O Tandon has warned Accra Hearts of Oak ahead of Sundays’s GPL mactch week 9 meeting.

    Dwarfs handed Tandoh a cruel lesson on his last competitive GPL game as head coach, thrashing the Ogya boys 3-1- But David Kwame Amoah will be incharge as head coach against the Phobians.

    Aduana are second on the league log with 16 points and the Phobians lie 9th with 11 points after drawing against AshGold in their last game.

    Although Tandoh hinted he may be assisting the new head coach, he insisted his team will fight and beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

    “Playing against Accra Hearts of Oak is a special game and must be treated as such.” he told Kumasi based Ashh Fm.

    We are not afraid of the Phobians, we are the defending champions of the Ghana premier league and wants to defend the title once again and in doing that, there is a saying if you want to be the best, you must beat all the best and we know Hearts of Oak is one of the best clubs in Ghana so we have to beat them.”

  • Yahaya Mohammed receives GHC5,000 from owner of Aduana Stars

    Nana Agyemang Badu 1, the owner of Aduana Stars has presented a gift of ghc 5,000 to Yahaya Mohammed after he scored his 7th goal of the season.

    He scored his seventh goal of the campaign on matchday 7 through a powerful free-kick to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Medeama at Dormaa on Sunday.

    Yahaya Mohammed has been carrying Aduana Stars on his shoulders this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists to inspire the league champions to assume to top spot with 16 points.

    Yahaya Mohammed before the start of the season promised o score over 20 goals to win the Ghana Premier League and he seems to be walking the talk.

    Meanwhile Aduana Stars have appointed Kwame Amofa as coach of the club.

  • Bright Enchil returns to squad as coach Boadu names 20-man traveling team against Aduana Stars

    Bright Enchil has returned to the squad for the first time since the start of the season as the gaffer names a 20-man traveling squad to battle Aduana Stars on match day-7 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

    Enchil, nicknamed “Possible 13” is expected to walk straight into the starting X1 due to the unavailability of Philip Osei and Fatawu Sulemana.

    The left-back has been impressive at training since recovering from a knee injury.

    Coach Samuel Boadu has included youngsters Shadrack Asmah and Mark Abila.

    Centre-back Ali Ouattara is still out injured.

    There are places for regular goalkeepers Eric Ofori Antwi and Yaw Ansah.

    Samuel Appiah, Meshack Odoom, Rashid Alhassan, Daniel Egyin and Ibrahim Yaro maintain their places in the squad.

    Richard Boadu, Jasper Nimo, Agyenim Boateng, captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah, Agyei Boakye and Kwasi Donsu all made the trip to Dorma Ahenkro.

    Leading striker Prince Opoku-Agyemang, as well as other forwards Nana Kofi Babil and Ebenezer Ackhabi all, made the trip.
