  • Ashgold offer contract extensions to two players

AshGold has opened talks with Abdul Latif Anabila and James Akaminko about renewing their contract at the club.

The Obuasi-based club has offered new deals and a pay rise to keep the duo at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

AshGold is apparently eager to ward off Black Stars ‘B’ duo suitors, including giants from the Ghana Premier League Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM the CEO Emmanuel Frimpong said that his outfit is currently holding talks with the two players over new deals.

“We are already in talks with them (Latif Anabila and James Akaminko) for fresh contract,” he said.

”We can’t afford to lose them to any local club, so we are holding talks with them with good offer,”

“The squad will be strengthened with new players for our CAF Confederation Cup campaign” he concluded.

  • Ashgold star Latif Anabila wants to join Kotoko

Ashanti Gold SC midfielder Latif Anabila has expressed his desire to join regional rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of next season.

Anabila has been linked with a move to several clubs in the Premier League including the Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Aduana Stars.

His contract with the Miners will expire at the end of the season but with Kotoko keen on his signature, Ashgold will be hoping to sell him before he leaves for free.

“Asante Kotoko is a dream club for every player in the country so every player will be excited to play for them,” Anabila told Wontumi Radio.

“For now I am still a player of AshGold but If the two clubs come into agreement for me to move to Asante Kotoko I will be very happy,” he concluded.

Anabila remains a key asset for Ashanti Gold and the club has priced him at $30,000.

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors will not have new players for the season if domestic football returns following the directive to the new Board was issued by the owner of Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
