FIFA has announced that it will distribute $209 million to clubs whose players participated in the previous year’s World Cup finals held in Qatar on Thursday.
A total of 440 clubs from 51 different countries will receive the payment for their players’ involvement in the tournament, which was won by Argentina.
Under this arrangement, FIFA will allocate a daily amount of $10,950 for each of the 837 footballers who competed in the World Cup, irrespective of the minutes they played on the field.
The total sum allocated per player will be divided and distributed among the club or clubs to which the player was registered in the two years leading up to the Qatar finals.
This payment represents an increase from the $8,530 per player that FIFA disbursed during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
For Qatar, a total of 46 English clubs will be the largest recipients with a combined total of $37,713,297, followed by clubs from Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
Manchester City will be paid the most for a single club with a sum of $4,596,445 followed by Barcelona ($4,538,955) and Bayern Munich ($4,331,809).
Under the agreement signed earlier thisyear by FIFA and the European Club Association, $355 million will be distributed to clubs under the programme for the 2026 and 2030 editions of the World Cup.
Maha Ayew, the mother of Ghanaian national team playersAndre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew, had to depart from the Education City Stadium during Ghana’s Group H match against South Korea at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Jordan Ayew disclosed that his mother found the intensity of the game overwhelming and decided to leave before the match concluded.
According to the Crystal Palace player, Maha departed sometime between the 65th and 70th minute as she couldn’t bear the nerve-wracking experience of protecting a narrow lead in the final minutes of the game.
“My Mum, after 65 or 70 minutes, she couldn’t watch the game anymore. She had to leave the stadium! We like [the tension] like that, we enjoy it.
It was very stressful for her. She is very passionate about the game as well, so she just couldn’t watch it. With her two sons playing, it was not easy for her,” Ayew disclosed as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
During the game, Ghana took a two-goal lead in the first before Korea pulled parity in the early minutes of the second half with a strong start.
However, the Black Stars responded and regain the lead and held on this time to record their first and only win of the tournament.
Jordan Ayew’s created the first goal with a beautiful cross, which Mohammed Salisu scored from a rebound. He later put in another sublime cross that was nodded in by Kudus Mohammed for the second.
After Cho Gue-sung’s brace pulled Korea level, Kudus restored Ghana’s lead in the 68 eight minutes connecting a cross from the right.
The 26-year-old played a key role in helping the Atlas Lions reach the semi-final of the tournament, becoming the first African country to achieve the feat.
Amrabat, who features for Serie A side Fiorentina has been linked with a move to several clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and other European clubs like Barcelona and Juventus.
“With all the respect due to Fiorentina, Amrabat should play for one of the top 10 clubs in the world,” Regragui said during an interview with Morocco’s TV Arryadia as quoted by DailyMail.
“Amallah and Ounahi will surely find better clubs and the same is true of Ziyech who proved what he can do. He should be a starter at Chelsea.”
Amrabat has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina this season.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar caused domestic football to be suspended for a month. The title sponsor of the Ghana Premier League, betPawa, has expressed their excitement following the return of domestic play.
On Monday, the top flight began with Bibiani Gold Stars defeating RTU to move to the top of the league standings and Samartex FC drawing 1-1 with Accra Lions.
The Premier League went on break after eight round of matches that saw two-time champions Aduana Stars lead the table with 16 points, one point richer than Accra Lions who are in second place with 15 points.
Ghana had been drawn into Group H of the Qatar World Cup 2022, where they played Uruguay, Portugal, and South Korea, with two players from the betPawa Premier League, namely Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Ibrahim Danland, who represented the country as part of the Black Stars.
betPawa’s Country Consultant, Jesse Agyepong further commented, “Ghanaian football has a lot of strong rising talent – one only needs to look at the performance of Mohammed Kudus at the World Cup to see what’s ahead. This is why at betPawa, we are passionate about the game. We believe that by investing into the betPawa Premier League, we are providing opportunities to change lives. We look to do this in ways that uplift and touch as many people as possible.”
betPawa’s Head of PR and Sponsorship Nii Armah Ashong-Katai commented, “The betPawa Premier League is important to young players, and a chance to achieve their dreams of playing on the international stage which was clearly evident in this year’s World Cup. We can’t wait to have the players and the fans back in the stadiums and enjoying the games with us. The World Cup brought in renewed passion for football and demonstrated that African players have the potential to play competitively.”
In preparation for Morocco’s semi-final match against France at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, head coach Walid Regragui has reportedly declared a state of emergency in the team’s training facility.
The source added that the coach forced the players to hand over their phones to the team’s management, with the aim of putting them in a state of full concentration.”
The players only get on their phones for two hours a day in the evening, and then they go to their rooms, in order to go to sleep.
This is the self-discipline believed to have helped the team to this far at the tournament.
The Atlas Lions became the first African country to progress to the last four after beating Portugal 1-0 courtesy of striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who leapt highest to beat goalkeeper Diogo Costa to the ball at Al Thumama Stadium.
Following the victory, Regragui also became the first African coach to lead a team to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Morocco’s clash against holders France will take place at Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.
Africa was represented by the Black Stars and the Atlas Lions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar; the former team was eliminated from the competition in the group stages, while the latter team advanced to the semifinals.
Morocco defeated Portugal to become the first African country to progress to the semis of the global showpiece and given the nature of the players that featured for both nations, Jordaan believes Bafana should not be compared to their two African rivals.
“We must not equate a team that has 90% of their players coming from Europe and becoming citizens in order to be in the team,” Jordaan said as quoted by sabcsport.com.
“How’s it possible that one [Inaki] Williams is playing for Ghana, and his brother, another [Nico] Williams, is playing for Spain?
“Our focus is, we must not be distracted by that. Fundamentally, our position is [that] we must produce world-class players that can compete with the best in the world.”
Prior to their round of 16 matchup against Spain at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Morocco‘s head coach Walid Regragui revealed that his team spent four days developing a gameplan.
After a scoreless draw, the Atlas Lions shocked Spain 3-0 in a shootout to go to the World Cup quarterfinals.
After 120 minutes, there was no way to separate the two teams, and Spain’s three penalties—two of which were beautifully saved by goalie Bounou—were all missed.
That left Hakimi to win it for the North Africans with his nerveless spot-kick and spark jubilant scenes in the stands at the Education City Stadium.
“We had agreed not to take possession, not out of fear,” he said.
“Nobody had managed to steal the ball from them, so I accepted not having the ball, I’m not a magician. We worked for four days on this gameplan.”
Morocco are the last African side following the exit of African champions Senegal, Ghana, Tunisia and Cameroon and also the only remaining Arab team left in the tournament.

Last Friday’s group stage elimination match between Ghana and Uruguay ended in a 2-0 loss for Ghana.
It was the second consecutive time the Black Stars exited the World Cup on the group stage.
Most Ghanaian fans were left disappointed after an impressive performance against South Korea in the second group match which the team won 3-2.
The game against Uruguay was declared a revenge match after the first meeting between the two sides 12 years ago.
The South American side denied Ghana a semi-final berth in that competition following a Luis Suarez handball and a resultant penalty kick missed by Asamoah Gyan.
Despite the promises to beat Uruguay in the final group game the Black Stars succumb to another defeat.
After the game, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and some players have apologized and also thanked the fans for the support during the tournament.
The Ghana Football Association were the first to issue the apology after the team’s exit from the competition.
“We regret our inability to progress to the knockout phase of the competition and offer our profound apologies to the government, the people of Ghana and all stakeholders across the globe.
“We believe that valuable lessons have been learnt from our qualification and participation in the tournament and aim to continue with the positives going into the future”.
Dede Ayew
Our final group match result was not what we were looking forward to in the tournament, but unfortunately, it ended up this way.
I am very, very proud of all teammates for putting up a wonderful team spirit on and off the pitch, off the pitch, for our country Ghana.

Otto Addo has revealed that Ghana did not rejoice after preventing Uruguay from moving on to the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Both teams were eliminated from the competition on Friday when the Black Stars fell to Uruguay 2-0 at Al Janoub Stadium.
After Andre Ayew missed the penalty kick, Giorgio de Arrascaeta scored both goals in the final eight minutes of the first half to end Ghana’s chances of moving on to the second round of the competition.
“I don’t know who said it, but nobody told them what the [South Korea] score was,” Otto Addo said after the game.
“I don’t know how they would know. For us, it was about trying to score. As a coach for more than 12 years, I have had games where we led 3-0 and lost 4-3. Anything can happen.
“I don’t think anyone was thinking about this, but I definitely wasn’t. Everyone saw wild games with goals in the last minutes. We just wanted to equalise, which would have gotten us through.”
Ghana chocolate sales increased in Korea after South Korea advanced to the knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup with the help of the Black Stars on Friday.
South Korea defeated Portugal, while Ghana fell to Uruguay by two goals, confirming the Asians’ place in the last 16.
If Ghana had conceded one more goal in the match, Uruguay would’ve made it to the next round instead of Korea.
As a result, the sales of Ghana chocolate skyrocketed 46.5 percent on Dec. 3 compared to that on Nov. 18, when the World Cup kicked off in Qatar, according to GS Retail, an operator of the local convenience store GS25.
Ghana chocolate sales also surged 32.7 percent at another convenience store CU over the weekend. CU is operated by BGF Retail.
South Korea will play Brazil on Monday, with the Asians aiming to reach the last eight of the competition.
Ghana skipper Andre Ayew missed a penalty in the 21st minute as his kick was saved by Uruguay goalkeeper Sergio Rochet following a foul on Mohammed Kudus.
Uruguay went on to win the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Giorgio de Arrascaeta in the 26th and 32nd minutes of the game but it was not enough as teams went out of the tournament.
Suarez explained to TeleDoce after the game: “I feel sadness and disappointment.”
“My son is also leaving the stadium with the image of that sadness, so for a father it is difficult, but he has to face the situation that he has.”
Uruguay and South Korea both ended with a zero goal difference, but the side from Asia netted a total of four goals in their three games, with the South American team scoring just the two they managed against the Black Stars.
Ghana, Cameroon and Tunisia failed to progress from the group stages while the African champions lost 3-0 to England on Sunday in the round of 16 stage on Sunday.
Morocco are the only African country left at the tournament and they take on tournament favourites Spain on Tuesday as they look to far in the competition.
“It is not easy to become world champions but in Africa infrastructure is improving,” he said after the game.
“We need more technical directors, we need to work on refereeing as well. You need all those things in place.
“We’ve made mistakes in the past. You can’t just do it overnight. In all countries in Africa there is a real sports policy in place. We have to keep that up if we want to win these tournaments.
During the session, which was done in the evening, the Black Stars players and coaching staff clapped and sang gospel tunes joyously, all but Kudus.
The young man who has been Ghana’s star player at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar had many folks worried as they did not want to see him sad. The young man has won the admiration of most Ghanaians with his performances at the tournament.
Many peeps who saw the video were not pleased to see Kudus in an unhappy mood and tried to figure out why he was quiet and gloomy.
Some peeps opined that maybe he was just not in the mood, while others attributed his unhappy look to the fact that he was Muslim and did not want to participate in singing Christian songs.
Some peeps also gave other interesting probable reasons the Black Stars star looked sad.
Kudus Sad Look Sparks Reactions
Khadijatul Kubrah was worried:
Why is Kudus Not happy don’t worry You guys are surely going to make it Inshallah
ajoarhema felt the song had nothing to do with it:

However, despite victory they failed to qualify for the last 16 of the global showpiece following Australia’s 1-0 win over Denmark in the other group game.
Tunisia captain Wahbi Khazi’s second-half goal proved to be the winner at the Education City Stadium. Antoine Griezmann found the back of the net via a deflection but France’s celebrations quickly turned to frustration when the goal was ruled out by the VAR.
“It’s mixed feelings because we’re happy to beat a team like France,” said Tunisia manager Jalel Kadri.
“We can be proud and leave with our head high, but it is a bitter victory.
“It would have been beautiful to beat France and reach the last 16. It is our fault for not doing what we needed to do before.”
Tunisia’s wait to reach the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time continues as they exit the competition.
Black Stars took a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Mohammed Salisu and Kudus but two stunning headers in three minutes from Cho Gue-sung levelled the game after 61 minutes.
Kudus added a final twist when he thumped in a third for Ghana to break South Korea’s hearts.
“I am satisfied with the result of getting three points. In the beginning of the game, Korea put pressure on us, but we took the lead with a good free kick,” the 47-year-old said after the game.
“The opponent changed tactics after the first half, but we struggled because we couldn’t block Korea’s cross. However, our spirit was strong, so we scored the third goal. I wish we had scored the fourth goal, but in the end we won. I did. I am satisfied.”
Black Stars are currently second in Group H and will need a win or draw their final group game against Uruguay to process to the round of 16 stage.
South Korea coach Paulo Bento is not happy his side lost 3-2 to Ghana in their second group game at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“I am dissatisfied with the result, but satisfied with the content,” said Paulo Bento who was sent off after the game by Anthony Taylor for arguing with the English referee for not allowing a corner to be taken despite the 10 minutes having elapsed.
“I will prepare to produce the best results.”
The defeat leaves South Korea 3rd in Group H and must beat Portugal to stand any chance of progressing to the round of 16.
Coach Paulo Bento will miss the Portugal clash on Friday due to the red card he received.
Former Ghana international Michael Osei says the Black Stars must go extra mile in order to get a favorable result when they face South Korea in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars will take on South Korea in their second Group H game on Monday afternoon at the Education City Stadium.
Otto Addo’s team suffered a 3-2 defeat against Portugal whiles South Korea shared the spoils with Uruguay in their opening games respectively.
The 2016 European Champions, Portugal currently sit top of Group H with three points.
Meanwhile, the defeat means Ghana are bottom of Group H after Uruguay and South Korea played out a goalless draw last Thursday.
Speaking to Footballghana.com, the Bibiani Goldstars trainer was of the opinion the Black Stars double their effort to beat the Asian country.
Meanwhile, he has urged Ghanaians to lower expectations for the national team at the mundial.
“Is normally a difficult game but everything is possible. We should lower expectations, this is World Cup, the highest level in the game so every opponent is not easy to beat”
“We need to go extra mile and be tactically discipline against Korea” he said.
Spain manager Luis Enrique has admitted that he doesn’t have a problem with players having sex the night before matches.
The former Barcelona coach made the statement while speaking on Twitch, fulfilling his promise to fans to keep streaming for as long as Spain is in the World Cup.
When he was also asked if players should be told not to have sex before games he said: ‘It’s ridiculous (to ban it). It’s something I consider totally normal.
‘If you’re at an orgy the night before a match then obviously that’s not ideal, but when I’m a club coach the players are at home the night before a game and it’s not something that worries me at all.
‘If it’s something they do then it’s because they need to and want to. But I repeat with common sense! Each one with their partner. It’s normal. When I was a player if I was at home before a game, with my wife, well we did what we had to do.’
Enrique’s star man in his Spain squad, Ferran Torres is currently dating his daughter and recently joked that she would ‘chop his head off if he failed to start him in a game.
When asked who, in the Spain squad might be the most similar player to Enrique, the manager said: ‘That’s very easy – It’s Mr Ferran Torres – otherwise my daughter will come after me and chop off my head.’
Later on in the stream, Enrique was asked what country he wishes he had played in, and he said: ‘England definitely. The Italian league was very strong in my era but playing in England would have helped me with my level of English and I would have been able to experience the more physical, more intense football that they have there, and experience a different culture.’
Ajax midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, has revealed that he spoke to Everton manager, Frank Lampard, over a possible move to the club during the summer transfer window.
The Ghana forward had a torrid time beginning of the Dutch season.
Kudus failed to start any of Ajax’s first four games of the season, amassing just 29 minutes during that run.
The 22-year-old considered leaving Ajax and was strongly linked to the Toffees.
Despite the strong interest, the move to the Premier League club fell through.
“I was really close to joining Everton,” he told Joy Prime.
“I thought it was a good project for me and I felt I should try it. It wasn’t like this season was my first, it was my third. So if I’m not getting the progress I’m looking for then why not try something else? That was the focus of everything that happened.
The attacking midfielder added but for the reluctance of Ajax to allow him to leave, he would have joined the Merseysiders as he discussed with Frank Lampard.
“I spoke to Lampard [regarding a move to Everton]. I had a chat with him to know the project they have for me, what he thinks about me and how he sees me as a player because definitely that would be the green light for me to decide whether I want to move. Without the coach there is nothing,” he continued.
Kudus became a regular in Schreuder’s starting line-up following the closure of the transfer window, playing in the false 9 role where he has flourished. The former FC Nordsjaelland forward is expected to play a key role for the Black Stars at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Two of the three sons—Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew—of one of the greatest players to have ever represented Ghana’s Black Stars, the maestro Abedi Ayew, seem to consistently incite conflict among Ghanaians whenever the Black Stars are involved in a match.
Some fans contend that they no longer play well enough to merit call-ups. These calls ought to go to fresh faces who are more capable and ready to compete. Others believe that since they are two of our most crucial players, their call-ups are merited.
There shouldn’t, in my opinion, be such a significant rift over the brothers’ selection for Ghana’s World Cup team. I’ll explain why.
Dede Ayew
The older of the two, Dede Ayew, made his international debut for Ghana in 2007 while still a teenager. He has now progressed to captain the Black stars. He has 109 caps and has scored 23 goals for his country. Nobody embodies commitment and passion more than Dede Ayew, the team’s current captain.
He is constantly willing to put in a lot of effort and sweat to ensure the success of the nation. A player’s call-up to his national team is always an honor, and Dede always gives his best effort when he receives that call-up. His leadership skills and drive to inspire his teammates to step up their game when they are struggling are excellent qualities to have on the team.
Many spectators mock him and label him “choirmaster” for his clapping and hand motions on the field, failing to recognize the psychological impact it may have on the players. As team captain, he also serves as the coach’s mouthpiece. When a player makes a mistake that costs the team a goal or wastes a significant scoring opportunity, he serves as the initial source of encouragement for the players.
Earning over 100 caps for Ghana is no small feat. He has played in two FIFA World Cups (2010 and 2014), as well as seven Africa Cup of Nations (2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021), helping them finish runners-up in 2010 and 2015, and was top goalscorer at the latter tournament.
This demonstrates the caliber of player he is and the range of experience he brings to the team. No other squad member has this much international tournament experience. Dede Ayew has played for teams who have won championships and teams that have faced relegation throughout his club career.
He worked hard for victory in relegation battles and scored several crucial goals when it mattered most. Although the Black Stars group includes opponents like Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea, it is never impossible. He is a very good option off the bench when the stars are chasing the game, even if he is not named in the starting 11. His heading ability is very underrated. He can move well off the ball to attack the proper gaps for crosses and even tower over larger, taller defenders to score goals.
Jordan Ayew
The youngest of the three Ayew brothers, Jordan, made his senior debut for Ghana in a 2010 victory against Swaziland in an AFCON Qualification match. Since then, he has consistently played for the national side. He has 83 total caps for the Black Stars and has scored 19 goals, 4 less than his brother Dede. Jordan is a dependable player for Crystal Palace at the club level, starting 10 games and substituting in the other 3 this season.
This demonstrates his level of involvement. He plays a very tactical role in assisting players like Wilfried Zaha to succeed, as can be shown by looking at some of his games this season. When Jordan Ayew is played on the right wing, Zaha remains high and wide as the danger on the counterattack, therefore giving Jordan greater defensive responsibilities. When Palace decides to defend in a mid or low block, Jordan tucks into midfield as needed. He is a crucial member of Patrick Viera’s team thanks to his tactical prowess.
Jordan can be utilized similarly or more offensively for the national team because he can also play as a striker. When switching plays or struggling to build out of defense, his holdup play might make him a viable target for long balls. There is no truth to the many Ghanaians’ complaints that he is sluggish and lazy.
He is among the most diligent forwards you will come across. His dedication and perseverance make him a very special profile to have in front of the press. Whatever your personal opinion of the brothers may be, if they are not called up, their very specific profiles will be missed.
With so many new players on the team, Andre Dede Ayew’s leadership, wisdom, and passion are desperately needed. Players who have participated in international competitions before and have excelled should absolutely be included because more than half of the players will be making their debuts there.
Jordan Ayew also possesses the tactical adaptability to enable the coach to make specific tactical modifications throughout a game as needed.
All in all, you don’t just get rid of your captain, your most experienced players, and two of your top scorers when heading into a tournament. It is essential to gradually replace older players who aren’t providing their best while giving new players time and encouragement to step into those large shoes as the team continues to establish a solid foundation for the years to come. New and young players are frequently overwhelmed by too much pressure.
To sum up, the Ayew brothers always play with passion for the Black Stars because they love their country. Whatever the opinions of the supporters, if they are not included in the squad, they will be missed during the world cup.
Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong who is on the radar of the Ghana FA has made the list for the mundial, there is no chance for the Bayer Leverkusen defender to play for the Black Stars.

Former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah, says the Black Stars will perform at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
The playing body of the team has been under intense criticism following their unimpressive performance in recent times.
The Black Stars suffered a defeat against Brazil but recorded a narrow win against Nicaragua in the friendly games played in September as part of the preparations for the Mundial.
The team will come up against Switzerland in a friendly on November 17 before heading to Doha on November 19.
Despite the criticisms, Appiah, who captained the side to the 20006 World Cup in Germany says the players will come good at the tournament.
According to him, Ghanaian players in Europe have been performing well, and expect them to perform.
“We will. Watching our players now they are all in top form and this is the time I have been seeing Ghanaians playing watching the Champions League and the Europa League,” Appiah told Joy Sports.
“That means they are doing well and I hope they will take the same form to Qatar,” he added.
Otto Addo, who is the head coach for the side will announce his squad on November 14.
Ghana has been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
The 22nd edition of the Mundial has been scheduled to kick off from November 20 to December 18.
Ghana’s group opponent South Korea have been handed Son Heung-Min’s injury boost ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The forward, who plies his trade for Tottenham suffered a fracture around his left eye during a 2-1 win away to Marseille in the Champions League last week.
It raised fears in South Korea that their star player could miss the tournament in Qatar having underwent surgery to correct the fracture.
But Son himself reiterated on Wednesday he will feature in Qatar, with South Korea set to name their squad later in the week.
“I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you all for the messages of support I have received over the last week,” the Tottenham forward wrote on Instagram.
“I have read so many of them and truly, truly appreciate you all. In a tough time, I received a lot of strength from you!
“Playing for your country at the World Cup is the dream of so many children growing up, just as it was one of mine too. I won’t miss this for the world. I can’t wait to represent our beautiful country, see you soon.”
