West Ham announced on Monday that they have secured German striker Niclas Füllkrug from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year contract.
The Premier League club had been interested in Füllkrug prior to last season, but he opted to transfer from Werder Bremen to Dortmund instead.
During his time with Dortmund, he netted 16 goals in 46 matches across various competitions and played a crucial role in their journey to the Champions League final.
“I think the Premier League is the best league in the world, and for me it is the right time to move over to England and play for a big Club like West Ham,” Füllkrug said.
“I have been thinking about West Ham for a long time now. I know the technical director, Tim Steidten, very well, because we have history at Werder Bremen together, and I have watched some games and seen how much quality there is in the team.”
While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, reports suggest that West Ham paid £27 million ($34.5 million) for the German international.
The 31-year-old Füllkrug was part of Germany’s Euro 2024 squad, where he scored two goals in five matches.
