“We are better when Thomas is in the team” – Arteta fired up for Partey’s return

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has stressed the team’s immediate need for Thomas Partey to return to full fitness.

He highlighted how the presence of the Ghanaian midfielder significantly enhances the overall performance of the squad.

Since October, Partey has been sidelined, but now he is on the brink of making a competitive comeback after an extended absence. As Partey resumes team training with Arsenal, Arteta eagerly anticipates his full availability, emphasising Partey’s strength and positive form.

Arteta underscored the pivotal role Partey plays in elevating the team’s performance and expressed the squad’s anticipation for his return. The manager’s eagerness highlights the importance of having a key player like Partey back in action for the team’s success.

“He always looks strong and very good. That’s not the issue; it’s that we need him,” said the Arsenal manager.

“And we need him fit and available because he makes us better.

“We are better when Thomas is on the team.”

Thomas Partey, the Ghanaian international, last featured for Arsenal in October 2023. During this time, he also played for his country in matches against Mexico and the United States.

Following his last appearance, Partey has been absent for a total of 21 games across various competitions. In the current season, he has made only five appearances, with four in the Premier League and one in the FA Community Shield.

As Arsenal prepares to face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday in their return to Premier League action, there is hope that Partey’s comeback will significantly boost the team’s performance. The anticipation of Partey’s return adds a sense of optimism for Arsenal fans, eager to see his impact on the upcoming matches.
