Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. is hopeful that his partnership with Jude Bellingham will match the connection he once had with former teammate Karim Benzema.
Bellingham has been instrumental in setting up two of Vinicius’ goals in the current Champions League campaign, including the Brazilian’s contribution in Wednesday’s 3-2 victory against Napoli.
“I’m happy that he’s on the right path to help us and that my connection with him is the same as mine was with Karim (Benzema),” Vinicius Jr. told TNT Brasil after Wednesday’s game. “I hope that we can help each other more and more.”
Vinicius revealed that he pushed for Bellingham to join Real Madrid this summer from Borussia Dortmund.
“I’m happy with the way he arrived,” Vinicius said. “I helped him a lot to come to Real Madrid. I sent (him) many messages over several days.”
