Tottenham beat New Castle by four goals to one

In their 10th consecutive game, Tottenham Hotspur scored the first goal and secured a victory, breaking a pattern of letting leads slip in previous matches.

Destiny Udogie opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Tottenham extended their lead with a brace from Richarlison before Heung-Min Son added a late goal from the penalty spot. However, a clean sheet was denied in injury time as Joelinton scored for Newcastle.

Both teams had early chances, with Richarlison’s fifth-minute effort earning a corner, and Bruno Guimaraes narrowly missing the target at the other end. Anthony Gordon’s cross aimed for Alexander Isak was expertly defended by Ben Davies.

Despite Cristian Romero’s header being cleared off the line by Miguel Almiron, Udogie broke the deadlock by tapping home Son’s dangerous cross.

Tottenham continued to threaten in attack, with Son and Kulusevski creating opportunities, and Richarlison doubled the lead after Son’s skillful play. Brennan Johnson and Isak had chances for Newcastle, but the visitors struggled to contain Tottenham’s attacking intensity.

In the second half, despite Newcastle showing more intent, Tottenham sealed the victory with a third goal. Porro provided a delightful pass to Richarlison, who scored from close range. Tottenham had several near misses, hitting the post and the woodwork, but Son converted a penalty in the 84th minute to make it 4-0.

Although substitute Oliver Skipp’s close-range effort was saved and Son narrowly missed, Newcastle managed to grab a stoppage-time consolation goal through Joelinton after Tottenham lost possession near their area. The match ended 4-1, with Tottenham claiming maximum points.
