Abdul Aziz Issah, a standout player from Dreams FC, has become the second Ghanaian to make the move from the Ghana Premier League to Barcelona.
He secured a loan deal with the Spanish club that runs until June 2025. Reports suggest that Barcelona paid €1 million for the initial loan after starting with a €400,000 offer, as revealed by sports journalist Saddick Adams.
This move marks a significant milestone in Issah’s young career, showing his growing potential on the international stage.
“Barcelona offered 400,000 euros, but the transfer ended up costing them 1 million,” he said on Angel TV.
Aziz joined David Oduro as Barcelona’s two signings from the Ghanaian top flight.
Saddick Adams opined that the duo’s move will positively impact future sales of Ghana Premier League players if they deliver.
“Our reputation as a country will rise depending on how they (Aziz and Oduro) fare. Oduro is a very good player, as well as Aziz.”
Abdul Aziz Issah will be joining Barcelona Atlètic, the club’s B team, for the 2024-2025 season.
Unlike Aziz, who secured his spot through an initial loan agreement, his compatriot David Oduro signed a permanent deal with Barcelona.
Oduro has committed to the club with a three-year contract, solidifying his place in the squad.
This marks an exciting chapter for both players as they embark on their journey with one of football’s most prestigious clubs.
