Stephen Appiah confident Mourinho will make the most of out Ghana’s Djiku at Fenerbahce

Former captain of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, believes Jose Mourinho will have a significant influence on Alexander Djiku, a Ghanaian, at Fenerbahçe.

On June 1, 2024, three months after leaving the Italian team AS Roma, Mourinho was named the new coach of the Turkish team.

Former Fenerbahçe player Stephen Appiah said that Mourinho had a talent for developing African players into elite players.

“Jose Mourinho has been very good with African players, and I think everyone he’s worked with proves themselves, including Didier Drogba, Solomon Kalou, Michael Essien, Mikel Obi, and many others,” Appiah told RG.

“We have Djiku, who has been able to win the hearts of the fans with the way he carries himself and approaches the game. I hope that with the arrival of Mourinho, he will be able to take his game to the next level.”

Djiku has become the toast of Fenerbahçe due to his impact on defense.
