Referee flee as players pursue him with broken bottle in Kumasi

Referee O.B. Amoah had to flee after being pursued by rowdy Manso FC players during a Division Two League match between Manso FC and Soccer for Souls FC.

According to a report by Asempa FM, Manso FC players who were dissatisfied with referee O.B. Amoah’s performance during a league game played over the weekend claimed the referee made biassed decisions.

Manso FC player is accused of picking up a broken bottle during the match and chasing the referee with the intent to hurt him.

The aforementioned player was backed by his teammates, who joined him in pursuing the referee.

The incident created chaos and brought the game to a halt as the security men present there we overpowered.

The report indicates that the police officers who were not more than ten had to call for reinforcement as they struggled to restore calm.

The police arrested five players from Manso FC but granted them police enquiry bail on Monday, March 14, 2023.
