Mbappe for Ballon d’Or over Messi, Haaland – Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi believes that Kylian Mbappe “deserves” to claim the 2023 Ballon d’Or, placing him ahead of Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.

The Morocco international expressed his support for Mbappe to secure football’s most prestigious individual accolade for the first time.

This endorsement comes in light of Mbappe’s exceptional performance in the early part of the season, notably contributing to PSG’s 2-0 triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Messi is currently leading the race to secure his record-extending eighth Ballon d’Or award, notably achieving success by winning the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar last year.

Haaland is also a strong contender, having scored an impressive 56 goals during his debut season with Manchester City, leading them to a treble.

Despite missing out on the World Cup title as France fell to Argentina in the 2023 final, Mbappe emerged as the tournament’s top scorer.

Additionally, he netted an impressive 41 goals for PSG during the 2022–23 club season.

Luis Enrique’s team is set to return to action on Sunday in a Ligue 1 match against Marseille.
