Manchester United is on the verge of finalising a deal to acquire goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, a move that will likely pave the way for Dean Henderson’s transfer to Crystal Palace, as per information from ESPN’s Rob Dawson.
United is preparing to secure the services of Bayindir from Fenerbahce for a sum of approximately €4.9 million, while concurrently, Henderson is in the process of sealing a permanent switch to Palace for a fee of £20 million.
The medical examination for Bayindir has already been concluded, and he is set to sign with United after the formalisation of Henderson’s move.
Henderson, who was included on the bench during United’s 3-2 triumph against Nottingham Forest, subsequently journeyed to London post-match to undergo a medical assessment and hash out personal terms. Dougie Freedman, the sporting director of Palace, was spotted in the stands at Old Trafford during the match.
Altay Bayindir, boasting five international caps with Turkey, is poised to join the ranks as the backup goalkeeper to first-choice André Onana, who had previously transferred from Inter Milan earlier in the summer.
