Frederick Kwabena Dwamena, presenting himself as the father of the late Ghanaian footballer Raphael Dwamena, has surfaced, expressing grievances about being sidelined by the family.
In an interview with TikTok user Kwadwo Brown, Frederick Dwamena, hailing from Asamankese, claimed that the acknowledged father, Patrick Amoako Sefa, is, in fact, his younger brother.
He accused his supposed sibling of attempting to damage his reputation by making unfavourable statements about him.
Frederick Dwamena lamented the lack of acknowledgment and respect from the family, emphasising that he should be included in the arrangements for his alleged son’s funeral.
The family dynamics and assertions surrounding Raphael Dwamena’s lineage have added a layer of complexity to the already challenging circumstances.
“Raphael Dwamena is my son and we gave birth to him at Asamankese. His mother took him away when she came for a visit here. My junior brother, Bronx Man, who is a few years older than Raphael, is now claiming to be the father. He is not thinking about the issue; he is looking to profit from it.
“My younger brother has been disgracing me. I moved to his house in Nkawkaw but he sacked me. They don’t want to get close to him. Raphael is my firstborn. My brother, Patrick Amoako Sefa, is claiming to be the father of Dwamena because he took care of him. My name is Frederick Kwabena Dwamena.
“My brother is going around parading falsehoods. He is only looking out for his interest and benefit. Dwamena is my biological son and if anyone claims that he’s my father, then he is lying.
“He claims I threw the kid away; how can I do it? When the opportunity came for him to go, my brother stood in for him as the father but he was not the real one,” he said.
Tragically, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, the 28-year-old Ghanaian striker, Raphael Dwamena, met his untimely demise during an Albanian league match between his team Egnatia and Partizani.
Having a documented history of heart problems, Dwamena collapsed on the field and, despite efforts, succumbed while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
The remains of the late Dwamena have been repatriated to Ghana, where they were received upon arrival by some family members and officials from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
As of now, the date for his burial is yet to be announced, adding to the sombre atmosphere surrounding the unexpected loss of the talented footballer.
