The Ghanaian striker John Yeboah, who was born in Germany, scored in Friday night’s 4-1 loss to Raków in the Polish first division.
The Raków players were eager to get going.
Gutkovskis headed a corner kick in the sixth minute of play, but Rafa Leszczyski easily caught the ball.
In the 36th minute, the hosts opened the scoring. Bartosz Nowak launched Vladyslav Kochergin with an excellent pass, who avoided offside and with a clever shot sent the ball right past Leszczyński.
In the 49th minute, Ivi Lopez put the ball into the net, but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. VAR intervened and the goal was given to make it 2-0.
Wroclaw was 3-0 down in the 55th minute. Jean Carlos lost Martin Konczkowski with a great feint and crossed straight to the head of Bartosz Nowak. A shot from the closest distance fell into the net.
John Yeboah came on in the 57th minute as his team battled to score.
Ivi López scored Raków’s fourth goal in the 67th minute and John Yeboah netted Śląsk Wrocław’s consolation goal in the 68th minute.
