In a video shared on Twitter, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was seen in the audience at the concert at Montjuic Stadium and seemed to be trying to maintain a low profile.
The World Cup winner quickly discovered that was impossible when assembled Barcelona supporters recognised him sitting in the lower stands and started singing his name in unison.
Messi reportedly skipped the annual UNFP ceremony, which recognises the top players in Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the D1 Arkema (women’s first division) to attend the concert, reports RMC Sport.
The Argentine genius was one of four PSG players nominated for the French league’s team of the year, along with award-winner Kylian Mbappe, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes.
Messi’s condition for Barcelona return
Meanwhile, Messi has requested Barcelona sign his fellow Argentina teammates, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes, ahead of his potential return, Sportskeeda reports.
Both of these footballers played alongside their national captain at Paris Saint-Germain last season before joining Juventus at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
With Juve likely to miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification for next season, Messi now wants Barcelona to sign the Argentines as one of his conditions for re-signing for the Catalan giants.
