Mohammed Kudus, a player for West Ham, has recently arrived in the country to join his fellow Black Stars players in the pre-African Cup of Nations (AFCON) camp.
He is the last player from the Black Stars to report to the camp, and the team is gearing up for their journey to Ivory Coast, where the 2023 AFCON is scheduled to be held.
“The star man will not be part of the team that plays Namibia in the pre-AFCON friendly tomorrow but will likely join the team anytime from tomorrow,” Saddick Adams stated on X.
He added that Kudus is “nursing a minor injury and Accra offers the best opportunity to continue that recuperation. The Ghana Black Stars currently have some of the best medics on the continent and are in control of the situation.”
Kudus has been displaying excellent form with his club, West Ham, and is considered a vital component of Chris Hughton’s team as Ghana aims to break a prolonged trophy drought in the upcoming AFCON.
In the meantime, the Black Stars are set to face Namibia in an international friendly before their journey to Ivory Coast. The match is slated to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi later tonight.
