Kamaldeen Sulemana was desperate to leave- Stade Rennes boss

Stade Rennes coach Bruno Genesio has outlined the reasons why his team approved Kamaldeen Sulemana‘s transfer to Southampton.

The Ghana international joined Premier League side Southampton a club-record fee on the final day of the January transfer window.

The Saints paid £22 million to sign the pacey winger from the French club.

Explaining why his outfit sanctioned the Ghanaian winger’s move, the manager said it’s not worth keeping a player who doesn’t want to play for the club.

He made 14 appearances and scored one goal in the Ligue 1 this season for Rennes before exiting the club.

Sulemana made 47 appearances in Ligue 1 for Stade Rennes since joining from FC
