Ghanaian winger, Joseph Paintsil, embarked on his integration with Los Angeles Galaxy amidst rainy weather during his inaugural training session with the Major League Soccer (MLS) team.
Having recently secured a four-year deal from Belgian league side KRC Genk, the 26-year-old now holds a Designated Player status at LA Galaxy, exempting his salary from the team’s cap, and he will be donning the jersey number 28.
LA Galaxy’s head coach, Greg Vanney, expressed satisfaction with Paintsil’s swift assimilation into the team, aligning with the coach’s strategy for the dynamic winger.
Vanney shared his excitement during Paintsil’s unveiling, asserting, “We are pleased to add a player of Joseph’s quality to the LA Galaxy. Joseph is a dynamic winger with and without the ball who possesses the capacity to change games instantly. We look forward to integrating him into our group quickly.”
Paintsil’s transition to LA Galaxy follows a notable individual performance with the Black Stars at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, despite the team’s exit at the group stage without securing a victory.
Before joining LA Galaxy, Paintsil showcased his prowess in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, contributing six goals and four assists in 23 games this season.
