Head coach of FC Zurich, Bo Henriksen, has openly acknowledged the challenge the club is encountering in locating a player of higher calibre than Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
Despite Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s impressive performance in the initial three matches of the season, Bo Henriksen has affirmed that the club is actively in pursuit of a new striker.
The departure of Nigerian forward Tosin Aiyegun to French Ligue 1 side Lorient has prompted FC Zurich to intensify their efforts to find a suitable replacement.
Nonetheless, Afriyie’s consistent performance and contributions since the season’s commencement have rendered the task of identifying a superior player increasingly arduous for the team.
Bo Henriksen reiterated these sentiments following FC Zurich’s noteworthy 3-0 victory over Lugano, wherein Afriyie’s two goals were instrumental in securing the triumph.
Following the match, Henriksen playfully quipped, “Right now, I’m looking for at most a glass of wine or a beer.”
However, he swiftly shifted to a more serious tone, acknowledging, “We will certainly continue to search for a striker. But now it has become more difficult to find someone better than Daniel.”
