Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh makes Europa League debut in Freigburg’s victory over Qarabag

Black Stars midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh climbed off the bench to help Freiburg beat Qarabag in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Kyereh was named in the team for the Europa League after missing the Bundesliga victory at Bayer Leverkusen. The Ghanaian midfielder featured for the team B against Ingolstadt.

He replaced Vicenzo Grifo with two minutes remaining as Freiburg defeated the Azerbaijani giants 2-1 at the Europa-Park Stadion.

Two quick-fire goals from Vicenzo Grifo and Doan Ritsu gave Freiburg a two-goal lead after 15 minutes.

Qarabag pulled one back through Marko Vesovic after connecting to a pass from Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh joined Freiburg in the summer transfer window and has made five appearances across all competitions
