Ghana finish 2019 47th on FIFA rankings

Ghana is ending 2019 on the 47th position in the World and 6th position in Africa in the FIFA ranking as the last for the year was released on Thursday.

Ghana moved up four places in last month’s rankings thanks to the two victories in the month.

The Black Stars wins over South Africa and Sao Tomé and Principe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications last month contributed to a rise in last month’s global rankings from 51st to the 47th place.

Ghana remained on the 47th position in the December and final rankings for the year.

The Black Stars also remained on the sixth position in Africa behind Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria and Morocco.

Ghana began the year on the 52nd place in a global rankings and 6th in the African rankings.
