Olympique Lyonnais has completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah, who is a graduate of the Right to Dream academy.
The announcement was made on Wednesday night, confirming that Nuamah will sport the number 37 jersey during his time with the club.
Notably, this is the same jersey number he wore during his stint with FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga.
The talented player’s move to Lyon comes on the back of his transfer from RWD Molenbeek in Belgium.
Although Nuamah initially joined RWD Molenbeek on a permanent contract from the Danish club, he has now been loaned to Olympique Lyonnais until June 2024.
Notably, RWD Molenbeek is owned by Eagle Football, the same entity that owns Olympique Lyonnais.
Ernest Nuamah’s exceptional performance in the 2022–23 season did not go unnoticed, as he clinched multiple awards, including Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in the 3F Superliga.
The new season kicked off in remarkable fashion for him as well, with a hat-trick and the prestigious Player of the Month accolade.
In making this move, Nuamah joins the ranks of Abedi Pele, John Mensah, and Michael Essien as the fourth Ghanaian player to don the Olympique Lyonnais jersey.
