Bayern Munich and English striker Harry Kane has declared Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy as their preferred African musician.
During a Q&A session with ESPN, the captain of the Three Lions of England singled out the Grammy winner as his favourite artist from Africa.
Kane was asked, “What is the last song that got stuck in your head?” He replied, “You know, ‘Big 7’ from Burna Boy? Yeah, I do like Burna Boy, to be fair. It just popped into my head there.”
On the musician he would like to see live, the former Tottenham striker said, “Maybe someone like Burna Boy or Dave, you know.”
After departing Tottenham in the 2023 Summer transfer window, Harry Kane is currently in contention for the European Golden Boot.
The prolific striker is vying for his first-ever European Golden Boot, having netted an impressive 17 goals in just 11 Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich this season.
Kane’s remarkable start has not only shattered various records but has also positioned him favourably in the race for Europe’s top goalscorer accolade this season.
With this goal tally, he has surpassed last season’s winner, Erling Haaland, who scored an astonishing 36 goals in his debut campaign for Manchester City, setting numerous records on the way to securing the Treble.
