Joao Felix is currently experiencing a remarkable 900 percent increase in his salary at Barcelona as the on-loan forward undergoes a significant pay boost.
Despite the financial challenges faced by Camp Nou, the Portugal international willingly accepted a personal sacrifice to secure a season-long move from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2023, driven by his desire to join his “dream” club.
Initially earning a relatively modest £344,440 in Catalunya, Felix’s current deal is being adjusted to better align with the true value of the 24-year-old winger.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Barcelona have “multiplied the remuneration agreed between Joao and FCB by 10 for Fair Play purposes”. That agreement means that Felix is now pulling in an annual salary of £3,444,400 per year.
Despite initial discussions about Barcelona securing Joao Felix on a permanent basis, his form has seen a decline in the ongoing 2023–24 campaign.
The Portuguese forward, who had a promising start, has contributed six goals and three assists in 21 games this season. In the recent 2-1 victory over Las Palmas, Felix found himself on the bench as Barcelona secured a dramatic win.
