CK Akonnor can manage the Black Stars – Moses Foh Amoaning

Former Ghana Boxing Authority President, Moses Foh-Amoaning says Charles Kwabla Akonnor is ready for the Black Stars job despite talks that he might be inexperience at National team level.

Akonnor has had the experience of coaching Premier and Division One teams in the country such as Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold, Eleven Wise and others but at National team level he only assisted ex-Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah in two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé prior to his appointment.

There have been talks Charles Akonnor might not be up to the Black Stars job per his experience.

According to Moses Foh- Amoaning, CK Akonnor has always admired the Black Stars job and he needs support to deliver.

“Judging the way he managed Asante Kotoko. Built the team and played against Cotton Sport in Cameroon, you could see how the team played, he told FOX FM.

“Yes, he can coach the Black Stars and has the idea and philosophy of how the team plays.

“He understands the Ghanaian philosophy. CK Akunnor understands the Ghanaian game, looking at what he did at Kotoko especially in that game against Cotton Sports in Cameroon”.

Meanwhile, Moses Foh-Amoaning stated he would have preferred if Akonnor passed through the ranks starting with the junior national teams before been handed the Black Stars job.

“I would have personally preferred he passed through the ranks, starting with the Black Satellites or the Black Meteors, but once he has been handed the Black Stars let’s support him and I know he can deliver”.
