On Sunday, February 19, the body of late Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu landed in Ghana.
A rescue crew operating in Turkey’s earthquake-affected regions discovered the Black Stars winger dead on Saturday.
Twelve days after the earthquake in Turkey that caused the apartment he was living in to collapse, the player’s lifeless body was discovered.
His mortal remains were placed on a flight yesterday amid widespread grief and tribute.
After several hours, the remains of the player has safely arrived in Ghana.
Christian Atsu’s deceased body has been picked up by government by the burial party of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In the presence of some family members and Ghanaians dressed in Black, prayers were offered for the player before he was taken away by the military officers.
According to H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is Ghana’s Vice President, Christian Atsu will be given a befitting burial.
