Owen Dale, Jordan Gabriel, and Marvin Ekpiteta scored as Blackpool secured a 3-0 victory against Forest Green, setting up a third-round FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest.
Blackpool took the lead in the 18th minute when Owen Dale charged down a loose ball, won a 50-50 challenge with keeper Luke Daniels, and tapped into an empty net.
Despite missed chances by Dom Thompson and Matty Virtue in the first half, Blackpool maintained their dominance.
In the second half, Kyle Joseph had an opportunity to extend the lead, but Forest Green made a triple substitution, including player-coach Troy Deeney, to find a route back into the game. However, Blackpool continued to control the match, and Jordan Gabriel scored a second 15 minutes from time.
Marvin Ekpiteta sealed the victory by heading Karamoko Dembele’s free-kick into the net, completing a successful night for Blackpool.
