In a groundbreaking transfer, Bayern Munich acquired striker Harry Kane, and his exceptional goal-scoring form this season has surpassed expectations, quickly establishing him as a beloved figure among the fans.
The prolific striker made the move from Tottenham to Bayern in August for a Bundesliga-record €100 million ($106 million) fee.
This significant transfer was prompted by Bayern’s need to secure a proven goal-scorer following the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona last year.
Since his arrival, Kane, England’s all-time leading goal scorer and the second-highest scorer in Premier League history, has made an immediate impact.
He has impressively netted 21 goals in 15 matches across the Bundesliga and the Champions League for Bayern.
Notably, in their 4-2 triumph over Heidenheim on Saturday, Kane’s two goals elevated his league tally to 17 from 11 games, establishing a new league record for the most goals at this stage, surpassing Lewandowski’s previous mark of 16.
“It is impressive,” beamed Bayern sports director Christoph Freund after Saturday’s double.
“He is playing away from the U.K. for the first time and then he scores like that. The team also plays him into position. He is a phenomenon.”
