Real Madrid, the newly crowned Spanish champions, secured a comfortable victory against Granada with goals from Fran Garcia, Arda Guler, and a brace from Brahim Diaz.
After a first half with few opportunities, young full-back Garcia opened the scoring in the 40th minute, converting a low cross at the back post for his first goal for the club.
Fellow youngster Guler doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time, with Garcia providing the assist by cutting a cross back to the penalty spot for the Turkey international to finish.
Diaz added the third goal four minutes into the second half, intercepting a stray pass near the halfway line before driving forward and scoring from the edge of the box.
He completed his brace just nine minutes later, calmly slotting home a low finish following a flowing passing move.
Despite several chances for both sides, neither could find the net in the remaining half-hour.
Granada’s relegation to the second tier was confirmed, as relegation rivals Mallorca secured a 1-0 home win over Las Palmas earlier in the day.
The win extended Carlo Ancelotti‘s side’s unbeaten league run to 29 matches, surpassing the previous club record of 28 matches set during John Toshack’s tenure in the 1989/90 season.
