Incumbent Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo is currently under public ridicule on social media platform X following the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Primaries.
In a significant upset, Mike Oquaye Jr has delivered a substantial blow to the political aspirations of the current Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adowa Safo.
This outcome transpired during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries held on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Michael Oquaye secured an impressive 1,194 votes, overshadowing Adwoa Safo, who garnered 328 votes. The newcomer Sheila Sekyi received 186 votes.
The decisive victory for Oquaye reflects the apparent desire for change among the Dome Kwabenya constituents, as echoed by the sentiments expressed through the votes cast by the party delegates.
For many delegates, Sarah Adwoa’s absence for a year due to personal reasons cannot be easily forgiven and if forgiven, not forgotten.
Now, on X, Adwoa Safo is being trolled. Users are making fun of the fact that despite her many initiatives to win the hearts of her constituents such as throwing them parties, serving them breakfast and snacks, they betrayed her and failed to vote massively for her.
