At least one person has been killed in a shooting that took place Friday afternoon at the Mall of America. After police responded and lifted the mandated lock-down, the mall will remain closed for the duration of the night.

At around 8:17 p.m. Bloomington Police responded to a reported shooting at the mall. Videos on social media show shoppers hiding in stores—but the incident in question allegedly took place within the vicinity of Nordstroms.

“Just before 8 p.m. this evening, Bloomington Police Department responded to a shooting contained in a tenant space. As a result, Mall of America was put into lock-down. The lock-down has since been lifted. The Mall is now closed for the evening.”

This shooting comes just two days before Christmas but is the second lock-down this year in Mall of America after bullets flew outside of the Nike store in August. No one was injured. In October, the mall implemented a new metal detector system after two shots rang out on New Year’s Eve last year leaving two people injured.
