The defense ministry of Russia said it stopped a Ukrainian drone attack by shooting down two drones in the Moscow area.

Two more drones were stopped over the Bryansk area, which is in the northeast of the Ukrainian border.

Flights between Moscow’s airports were temporarily halted early on Tuesday, according to the ministry.

The area above Moscow has been closed a few times recently because drones have been causing problems.

The military ministry of Russia said that a Russian warplane destroyed a Ukrainian boat used for gathering information in the Black Sea. The boat had sailed close to Russian facilities that produce gas.

On Tuesday, Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that Russian defense systems had successfully destroyed two flying robotic devices to the west of the city, in the areas called Krasnogorsk and Shastsy.

No one got hurt in the attacks, and Ukraine has not said anything about them.

Despite not taking direct responsibility, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed that attacking Russian territory with drones is a justified and expected action.

According to reports, on Saturday, a very important Russian bomber plane was destroyed by a drone attack in Ukraine.

Pictures shared on social media and examined by BBC Verify reveal a Tupolev Tu-22 aircraft burning at Soltsy-2 airbase, which is located south of St Petersburg.

Moscow stated that a drone was shot at by guns but still managed to “harm” a plane.

The Russian Tu-22 bomber, which was destroyed, can go very fast and has been used a lot by Russia to attack cities in Ukraine.

The defense ministry of Moscow said that there was an attack at around 10:00 in the morning on Saturday. The attack was carried out by a drone that had a copter-like design.

The text says that Soltsy-2 is located in a military airfield in the Novgorod region.

The small aircraft was spotted by the airfield’s watchtower and was shot at with guns, according to the ministry.

One plane got damaged, but thankfully no one was hurt in the terrorist attack.

The report also mentioned that a fire started in the parking lot of the airfield but was put out quickly.

But, pictures on Telegram showed a big fire covering a jet with the special front part of the Tu-22. The company BBC Verify looked at the pictures and thinks they are trustworthy.

In the past few months, many small planes without pilots have been flying and attacking the capital of Russia.

Moscow has said that Kyiv is responsible for the attacks. Ukraine hardly admits fault for events or attacks that happen in Russia.
