Manchester United is reportedly on high alert, as Real Madrid is considering parting ways with Vinicius Junior if they successfully secure the signing of Kylian Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Sources suggest that Real Madrid has already made a decision to offload Vinicius should they manage to acquire the undecided Paris Saint-Germain forward.
With a recent midfield overhaul, Real Madrid aims to strengthen their attacking lineup with a global star.
President Florentino Perez reportedly sees Mbappe as the potential star player for the club starting next season, expressing doubts about Vinicius’s potential to become the face of Madrid.
Despite Vinicius signing a contract extension in October until 2027 and expressing his commitment to continue playing for Los Blancos until later returning to his childhood club Flamengo, the possibility of his departure looms.
Mbappe is reportedly seeking an annual salary of €70 million (£60 million or $76 million) along with a transfer bonus of €125 million (£107 million/$136 million) to make the move to the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid, however, is unwilling to break their wage structure and is prepared to offer him €35 million (£30 million/$38 million) annually, which would still make him the highest-paid athlete at the club.
Manchester United is closely monitoring the situation and is reportedly ready to offer £130 million ($165 million) for Vinicius Junior.
Madrid may be tempted to accept the offer as bringing Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu could strain their finances, although the possibility of Mbappe staying at Parc des Princes has not been ruled out.
