Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has shown interest in acquiring Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, as reported by The Athletic.
The 25-year-old is considered a top candidate to bolster the team’s forward line, particularly with the potential departure of Kylian Mbappé next season.
Mbappé has reportedly expressed his desire to leave PSG when his contract expires, although no agreement has been finalised, with Real Madrid being rumoured as a possible destination.
Osimhen, who previously played for Lille in Ligue 1 under the guidance of PSG’s current football advisor Luis Campos, has garnered significant attention after his impressive performance with Napoli, where he scored 26 league goals during their Scudetto-winning campaign last season.
Reports suggest that PSG may need to make a substantial offer of around €150 million to secure Osimhen’s services from Napoli, with his contract running until 2026.
Additionally, PSG is considering alternative options to replace Mbappé, including the possibility of signing multiple forwards. Among the potential targets are Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.
Salah, aged 31, is nearing the end of his contract with Liverpool, while Silva, aged 29, has previously been linked with PSG.
