Renowned Ghanaian media personality and fashion icon, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), fondly remembered the late reggae legend Peter Anthony Morgan, professionally known as Peetah Morgan, lead singer of Morgan Heritage.
Peetah Morgan passed away at 46 on Sunday, February 25, 2024, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in the world of reggae music.
Despite the band’s announcement of Peetah’s death on social media, the cause remains undisclosed.
As the global community mourns the loss of the Grammy-winning artist, tributes pour in from fans and celebrities, both online and offline.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) featured heartfelt tributes from listeners and celebrities, highlighting the impact Peetah Morgan had on the reggae scene.
Among those commemorating the late singer was KOD, the founder of Nineteen 57 Clothing, who expressed his deep admiration and shared anecdotes about his connection with Morgan Heritage.
“I discovered Morgan Heritage in 2001, 2002. They became one of my favorite reggae bands… I played their song on the Radio, and we developed a bond beyond a radio presenter-artiste relationship. Peter was a wonderful person… very humble guy but when he got on stage he was incredible. People come and go like the moon and the rain, but our brother Peter will always be in our hearts,” said KOD in his heartfelt tribute.
