Ghanaian actor turned politician, John Dumelo, has taken part in the ongoing protest dubbed #OccupyJulorbiHouse, which is being held at the Jubilee House.

During an interview with the media, Dumelo emphasized that merely expressing support for the protest online was insufficient to capture the government’s attention regarding Ghanaians’ concerns.

Therefore, he made the decision to physically participate in the demonstration to boost the crowd and make their message more impactful.

He clarified that his decision to join the protest was motivated by his citizenship rather than his celebrity status.

Mr Dumelo emphasized that not all celebrities may be visible on the streets protesting due to their various commitments and responsibilities.

Nevertheless, he encouraged both fellow celebrities and the general public to take part in the OccupyJulorbiHouse protest, emphasizing the importance of raising their collective voices to ensure the government acknowledges their grievances.

“Look social media be wide, many people are expecting celebrities to talk but to be honest not all celebrities can here. Celebrities are also Ghanaians today I am here as a Ghanaian citizen and not a celebrity.

“Everybody is contributing in a certain way it’s not everybody who can be here. Some will tweet and make noise about it. Not everyone can come. Today we are here to protest and see how things will go,” he added.
