Ahead of the much-anticipated New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries slated for November 4, two main contenders have been sighted engaging in a cordial gesture.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, considered the frontrunner in the flagbearer race, and Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, tipped to give the Veep a run for his money, exchanged pleasantries during a Council of Elders meeting.
In a video on social media platform X, the two leaders shook hands heartily. The Vice President smiled as he shook the hands of his contender.
Mr Agyapong’s posture read as one who was happy to see an ally. The handshake was indeed pleasant.
This goes to quash claims that the two individuals are engaged in a “beef”. This is due to allegations and rebuttals between the camps of Dr Bawumia and Mr Agyapong.
Mr Agyapong recently claimed that he was offered $800 million to step down from the race. In response, the camp of Dr Bawumia noted that they have not engaged Mr Agyapong and have also not made such an offer.
