Video: John Kumah’s mortal remains arrive in Kumasi ahead of today’s funeral

The mortal remains of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, arrived in Kumasi on May 17, 2024, ahead of his funeral today, May 18.

Kumah, who was also the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, was transported via a Ghana Armed Forces helicopter, marking the beginning of a solemn day of mourning for the public servant.

In an emotional scene captured on video and shared on YouTube, family, friends, and constituents were seen and heard shedding tears as Kumah’s body was moved from the helicopter to a hearse.

Kumah passed away at the Suhum Government Hospital at the age of 45 on March 7.

He was being transported to Accra for further medical attention when his condition worsened, necessitating a stopover in Suhum.

He was initially slated to be flown to Germany for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

The late MP is survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and their six children.
