Ghanaian style icon Nana Akua Addo has set a 48-hour deadline for Nigerian fashion designer Ezinne Olivia to publicly apologize or face legal consequences.
The fashion world has been buzzing with talk of Nana Akua Addo and Olivia following the recent AMVCA event.
Nana Akua’s stunning outfit received widespread praise, cementing her as one of the best-dressed at the event.
Afterward, Olivia criticized Nana Akua on social media, claiming lack of credit for her contributions.
However, Nana Akua clarified that the $3,000 3D garment was conceived in Ghana and acquired from China. She emphasized her Ghanaian designer Yoli’s primary role in the creation, stating Olivia’s contribution was minor.
According to Nana Akua’s lawyers, Olivia was given the option of social media credit or financial payment and chose the latter, receiving N400,000 in full.
The legal letter also revealed that Olivia’s name was initially included in posts but was later removed at her request to avoid shared credit.
Given Olivia’s videos, Nana Akua’s lawyers are demanding a public apology within 48 hours and the removal of all related social media content. Failure to comply will lead to court action and a compensation claim of N50,000,000 for damages.
