A 25-year-old motorbike thief, Ibrahim Mohammed Kunja, who had previously escaped from police custody in Bole, has been apprehended once again and subsequently sentenced.
Ibrahim has been handed an 18-month prison sentence for his crimes.
Following his escape two months ago, Ibrahim was tracked down and re-arrested at his hideout in Bole on February 6, 2024.
Appearing before the Bole district magistrate Court, presided over by His Worship Edward Essel, Ibrahim was sentenced on Wednesday.
In a related development, Ibrahim’s father, Kunja, was also apprehended by the police on suspicion of being an accomplice in his son’s criminal activities.
