Canada’s foreign affairs minister is going on a five-day trip to the Middle East and the Mediterranean. She will mainly focus on helping to keep peace and giving aid.
The government of Canada says that Melanie Joly is going to leave today. She will visit Cyprus, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece, where she will meet with other government officials and people in similar positions.
In a statement, Joly says that things are changing quickly in the Middle East and Caucasus, and it is affecting Canada.
She wants to talk to officials and see how Canada can keep helping.
She is going on a trip to mark 60 years of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus and to talk about how to send more help to Gaza.
She will also talk about keeping the Middle East and South Caucasus safe and stable.
