Days of Manchester United striker Anthony Martial at the club seem numbered, with Fenerbahce emerging as the likely destination in January, either on loan or through a permanent deal, according to Sky Sports.
Martial, aged 28, is approaching the final six months of his contract with United.
Although the club has the option to extend for an additional year, it appears unlikely given that he doesn’t feature prominently in manager Erik ten Hag’s long-term plans.
While talks of a contract extension were hinted at by the United boss earlier in the week, it seems these discussions may only aim to prevent Martial from leaving on a free transfer in the summer.
The club might trigger his extension and then consider sending him out on loan, paving the way for a permanent departure later.
Fenerbahce is reportedly keen on securing Martial on a permanent deal in January, hoping for a favourable bid due to his expiring contract. The Turkish club had already submitted a £6.8 million offer earlier in the week.
Despite interest from Inter Milan and West Ham United, Fenerbahce remains a preferred option for the French international.
